It's very convenient to book this hotel in Vancouver. It's next to the University Center. Next to this hotel is Leap Canada attractions. It's really good to stay in this hotel for the second time

The position is wonderful. You can easily get the access to Canada line and go anywhere; last but not least, the airport is just nearby. The service is also great. Nice hotel to give a try.

This was perfectly adequate for my one night stay prior to a cruise. The location is easily accessible from the train from the airport and less than a mile from the cruise terminal. It is no frills but clean. I had a shared bathroom which was a concern but it was fine. You share the bathroom with another room and you will hear them in there but, again, it was one night. There was a sink in the room which was good as you didn't need the bathroom for basic teeth brushing, etc. If I was doing an overnight in Vancouver again, I'd go back.

We stayed here pre-cruise in May of 2019, this time was post-cruise. Very quick walk from Canada Place. Easy walk to Gastown (restaurants and bars). Vancouver is a big city so it's not the cleanest, and has it's share of homeless and crazies, but that was all a few blocks to the east towards Gastown; the area around the Auberge and Canada Place is very nice, and it's an easy walk along the seawall (past coffee shops and restaurants) to Stanley Park (we walked to the Aquarium, about 1.8 miles or 3km depending on your units). Close to the metro to the airport, which we used last time but this time we left too early and had to cab to the airport (around $35 Canadian). The hotel is a combination (hotel, residence, club) and the rooms are modern with all the trimmings (coffeepot, fridge, cable, stylish bathroom with boutique soaps/shampoos). Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Much nicer to stay close to the cruise terminal instead of out near the airport.

Although all the rooms face the outdoors, the place is safe, and parking plentiful. Beds were especially comfortable, and restaurant next door serves really good food!

Ah, the Panda Pod Hotel! Marketed as the first capsule hotel in the Greater Vancouver Area (GVA), this relatively new establishment seeks to provide “modern and affordable” accommodation in the GVA. The Panda Pod, which opened in late April 2019, takes its influence from the pod hotels of Asia. When you check in, you’re given access to a total of three lockers for your personal belongings: A shoe locker, a locker for your backpack (if you have one), and a locker for your carry-on baggage. The gracious Panda Pod staff will also store one piece of standard-sized luggage free of charge, but anything beyond that will cost a very reasonable $5 for each additional item. My journey to the Panda Pod was kind of interesting. I was gearing up for some business meetings in Vancouver and, as usual, was a bit late on the draw in booking a hotel room. All of my typical haunts were fully booked, so I tried other hotels in the GVA, including those in Burnaby, Coquitlam, North Vancouver, Vancouver-proper and Richmond. Everything was totally booked – including the crappy Richmond Travelodge (see my earlier review on this site) – except for a couple of the Fairmont properties. And given that we were still in Vancouver’s “summer” season, the rates at the Fairmont hotels were nothing short of outlandish (between $800 to $1200 PER NIGHT). Then it dawned on me: “Hey! I remember reading something about a pod hotel opening . . .” So, I looked up the Panda Pod and noted, 1) There was availability for the night I needed; and, 2) The rate was practically unbeatable @ $65 + tax. Really, when it comes to value for money, this is where the Panda Pod shines: If you’re looking for a clean, friendly and safe place to stay, you can’t beat these prices . . . especially during “summer” season rates. [Of course, I subsequently found out why virtually every hotel was booked. It just so happened that during my meetings, the UBCM was holding their annual conference AND Elton John was visiting Vancouver as part of his world tour. I’m sure it was just a coincidence that the UBCM was meeting at this time ;) ] In any event, I guess what I’m saying is as long as you know what the Panda Pod Hotel is then you should be most satisfied with what you get: It’s not a hotel in the traditional sense; that is, you don’t get a private room, nor is there an on-site restaurant. Thanks to the unique pod structure you get what are essentially shared accommodations, split by gender (male and female). Each individual pod has a fairly comfortable mattress to sleep on; a foldable “desk” (and I use that term generously); hooks to hang items like a coat or hat; and a pull-down screen over the pod entrance for privacy. The hotel also features a shared lounge (with vending machine), washroom facilities and showers. In short, the Panda Pod isn’t fancy, but it’s cozy and functional. This time at Ctrip.com, this hotel first encountered the problem of Ctrip's promotion of Chinese services and found that there was no Chinese service at all. After communicating with Ctrip, it helped to provide a temporary solution. I did not expect that there was another unpleasant episode during the check-out at the hotel. After the check-in, the front desk did not take the initiative to give me an accommodation bill. To be honest, I did n’t remember to ask, or another guest found that his bill was wrong. It was there that I remembered that I should also take a look at my bill. As a result, there was an error in printing, and I charged 44.47 more for parking. I felt wrong even though my English was not good. They immediately took back the bill and tore it off. They recalculated and printed it out, and then came back. They only returned me 35 yuan and asked why it was not returned in full. Then the front desk tore the bill back again. Then recalculate and print it out correctly. I was very unhappy with their inattentive service. The end result was that they wrote this small note to me, and apologized and explained it. To be honest, I apologize for their apology. I really regret it. I booked this hotel on Ctrip. Ctrip introduced that there is Chinese service. In fact, they did not provide any Chinese service at all. The latter mistake led me to this so-called five-star Wedgewood leisure hotel with ancient European tradition Wedgewood Hotel feels very bad, this is the only regret in my Canadian trip [naughty]

Great hotel. We were upgraded to a suite without asking! Everyone was very helpful, and breakfast! Great location. They arranged a taxi for us to go to BC FERRY. Told us approximately how long it would take. Even told us a few restaurants we were interested in. We would stay there again.

My husband and I stayed one night at the Burnaby location in order to attend a dinner function nearby. We checked into our room and the heater was already on and set at 68 and seemed to be working OK. Shortly after we arrived in the room, a maintenance person knocked on the door to see how the heater was working. That should have clued us in as to what would happen next. A bit later, the unit started to spit out cooler air. I might add that the unit never cycled off and on as it should. I turned the unit up to around 72 to see if that would make a difference but no it did not. We contacted the front desk and within 5 minutes, maintenance came to check. We were told that the heater had to remain at 68, no higher or it wouldn’t work. I have never heard of such a thing. High temperature in Vancouver was mid 40's dipping into the 30's at night. By this time, it was 5:30 and we had to head out the door for the dinner event at 6PM. I wish we would have demanded a different room, because when we returned it was definitely cooler in the room. We were both tired and needed to leave the hotel early in the morning so we decided to “gut it out”. I looked for additional blankets and there were none. I wound up sleeping a total of 2 hours in my coat. This was not a comfortable experience.  I am generously giving this property 2 stars as the room itself was clean and the bedding was comfortable. The front desk clerk kindly gave us a 50% discount for our discomfort which was the best she could do, but when I contacted their HQ was offered a 50% discount off a future stay. Don't think I will take them up on that offer, but thanks anyway.
