Although it's halfway up the mountain, transportation is convenient, and the environment is beautiful and quiet. Both the room and public toilets are very clean. Luggage storage is secure with lockers – just remember to prepare a 2 CHE coin for them. Most importantly, it offers great value for money. P.S. Open the window and this beautiful view greets you!

I ended up booking a hostel bed because it was the only option left, and honestly, I was dreading it beforehand. Little did I know, my 'dream hill' would turn into a 'nightmare hill'! So, I accidentally missed my train in Switzerland (maybe couldn't find it, or got off at the wrong stop), which meant a 30-60 minute delay... and then I missed the hostel's last bus. I thought, '15-minute walk, no big deal, a little uphill is fine.' But it wasn't just a simple uphill, it was an incredibly steep climb! Dragging a 40lb suitcase left me utterly defeated. The front desk guy was busy checking in other guests (yep, only one staff member there), so he couldn't come help me halfway up the mountain until after 10 PM. Big thanks to the Trip.com customer service who kept me company on the phone during that time (it was so quiet on the hillside, not a soul around)... When I finally got to the hostel, I found out it was mixed-gender dorms. First time sharing a room with a bunch of guys, scared me to death! 🤯 The snoring was... well, hilarious haha 😂. Still, I'm grateful. That luggage was seriously heavy; I spent 7 minutes hauling it up the mountain, completely exhausted and burnt out. The next day was my birthday, and the front desk guy, with a bright smile, wished me 'Happy birthday,' as if last night's nightmare had truly just been a dream.

About a 10-minute bus ride from the station, the mountain views were absolutely incredible. The breakfast was very satisfying, with bread, cheese, ham, vegetables, yogurt, and coffee. Although the toilet and shower were shared, I had no issues using them.

Open the window and you'll see Mount Rigi directly! The location is a bit far from Grindelwald station and it's uphill, so if you have luggage, definitely check the last bus schedule and take the bus. There's no elevator in the accommodation, but cutlery, plates, a microwave, and a coffee maker are provided. You have to pay 3 francs for towels!

I stayed for one night in a private room. The room was comfortable, but I couldn't charge my phone by the bed. The toilet and shower were shared on the floor, but I never ran into anyone. Breakfast was excellent, and the view was amazing. The guy at the front desk was very friendly, explained everything in detail, and was always ready to help. There are lockers for luggage storage and a laundry room. You can get there by bus or on foot, but it's better to walk without luggage. They provide a free travel pass.

Transportation: From Grindelwald Station, you can only take bus 122 to reach the guesthouse. The last bus is usually around 6:30 PM, so make sure to check your schedule when booking! The guesthouse provides a free transportation card. It's about 3 stops from Grindelwald Station, and walking there involves an uphill climb that takes about 30 minutes. Environment: Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, breakfast and hot water are provided. Instant noodles are available for purchase, around 4.5 Swiss Francs each. The common areas are very clean. Accommodation: It's very quiet, and you can open the curtains to see the snowy mountains. For this price in Switzerland, it's definitely worth it. Service: The front desk staff were very welcoming. A hair dryer requires a 10 Euro cash deposit. Hygiene: One minor issue was that the towels provided weren't very clean. If you're particular about hygiene, it's probably best to bring your own.
