Gualala Country Inn

I booked a standard room with 2 double beds. The room is clean and comfortable with a river view. The location is great. The reason that I am not giving it a 5-star is that the room lacks counter space to put things on and there is no luggage stand so you'll need to put your luggage on the ground or on one of the chairs. Because of lack of counter space, the coffee machine is placed in the bathroom which is a bit of off-putting.

Room was clean. Housekeeping staff were very friendly, although spoke Spanish only. Host was very helpful and friendly. The staff alone were worth the price of the stay. Awesome view of the ocean. Walking distance to the store and the whole town, really. Just not when it's raining and windy. THANK YOU!

Staff was very nice. Toiletries were good. Could have used more shelves in the bathroom. Definitely needed more convenient outlets and usb ports for charging.

Parking was easy, location is good. I'm guessing it's a pet friendly layout. Staff was pleasant and easy check in. Construction present on the street towards the beach has been present for a month or two? Front desk said they usually work till about 7:00 p.m.? They were at it till 9:00 p.m. power tools and trucks with lights and backup signals, some Earth moving equipment. What was not anticipated was running dewatering pumps 24 hours a day and after the crew left after dinner hour they had a flood light trailer running a generator throughout the evening, exhaust fumes prevented opening the only available windows on the beach side, that wipes out pretty much taking showers and not going to bed in a steamy sauna of a room. Partial sleep and and 6:00 a.m. wake up to generators and trucks arriving, wasn't real upset about the coffee maker only putting out one pod of coffee. I took off in the car to go find coffee at the gas station and the wife and daughter tried to get a another hour of sleep to no avail. At least post that there is construction and that maybe you're offering a half off room rate, at least the six company vehicles for the construction crew staying at the location remained pretty hush as they had a corner of parking lot location to prepare their dinner trying to calling it a night. It's a great View and a small town so the highway gets real quiet after sunset, my guess is it's great when they don't have a highway project going on. Three options just blocks away!

The hotel was perfectly situated, close to ocean views & bluff walks, groceries, and food options. The room was big enough and clean-ish. I would stay here again with my family, but the place is quite dated with some of what you’d expect with old bathrooms. Beds were comfortable and clean. When we stayed, they said they were in the process of updating the TVs to allow streaming.

The staff is accommodating and friendly. There is nothing that could be done about the major construction project occurring in front of the hotel. The quality of the towels was good but the bedding needs an upgrade beginning with the mattresses. The hotel is conveniently located and within walking distance to a few restaurants and grocery stores.

We had a wonderful time. We were happy with everything. The shower is the only thing we saw that needed upgrading. Thank you. Very clean
