White Swan Hotel

I really love this classic State Guesthouse. The White Swan Hotel has a deep-rooted history, and the staff are all very professional and well-qualified. For dinner, we went to the Jade Garden restaurant on the third floor. We got a table right away without waiting, around 5:15 PM. There was a live guzheng performance for 45 minutes, and hotel guests get a 15% discount on food, plus a 15% service charge. Our meal for two cost 1075 yuan. We stayed in a river view room. The blackout curtains worked great, so no sunlight came through in the morning. The shower had excellent water pressure, making for a comfortable wash. What was unpleasant, however, was the service at the bakery on the first floor. A tall female staff member, upon hearing I wanted to buy a Napoleon cake to send home, immediately told me it couldn't be shipped. She claimed they'd had incidents where customers complained about expired food after shipping, blaming the delivery person. I told her that if I chose to ship it, I would accept the risk of spoilage and she needn't worry. She insisted I call SF Express to confirm if they would ship Napoleon cakes. I made the call, and the courier arrived quickly to pick up the package. Plus, SF Express offers next-day air delivery. It's not necessary for the bakery staff to play the role of a know-it-all when it comes to potential disputes with couriers later on. If I couldn't ship it, I'd just eat it myself. Why make a customer who has traveled so far so unhappy? Why create so many hurdles just to sell a cake? I really don't understand. Her well-intentioned advice, which crossed professional boundaries, was unnecessary. A simple reminder would have sufficed. If I couldn't ship it, would she have refused to sell it to me? It's such a simple process: the customer wants to buy bread, you scan the code and take payment. This was truly bizarre.

Shamian themed travel photography: Didn't use it. Dined at two restaurants, very satisfied. The dining environment at Yutang Chunnuan and Hongtu Mansion restaurants was excellent. Will definitely bring my family back. Selina from the Executive Club was outstanding, perfect service. Give her a big thumbs up.

I booked the cheapest room with a view of Shamian Island, and I thought it was pretty good. The room wasn't very big, but what really impressed me during my stay was the hotel's service. Many five-star hotels have polite and enthusiastic staff, but what stood out most at the White Swan was their proactiveness. As soon as you pause in the lobby, a staff member will approach you to ask if you need assistance. This was especially true when I checked out and was waiting for a taxi in the lobby. There was a traffic jam on the bridge leading to the hotel, and my driver was delayed. A staff member proactively came over to ask about the situation, called the parking attendant, and even arranged for someone to help me take my luggage to the car so we could turn around on the bridge and leave. While the hotel's facilities might not compare to newer hotels due to its age, the service is still top-notch!

The room was spacious and comfortable, perfect for a family. The view was delightful! Definitely a five-star hotel, the staff were professional and polite. We arrived early and our room wasn't ready yet, so they even offered drinks for the kids!

My long-time favorite, a place with deep sentimental value for a Guangzhou native like me! We upgraded to an Executive River View Deluxe Room, and the stunning views were just perfect for unwinding. The room was spacious, new, elegant, and comfortable, and the service was impeccable. Whether it was my request for a latex pillow and coir mattress due to back pain, the engineer promptly checking the room when I felt stuffy in the middle of the night, or the surprisingly quick delivery of our favorite White Swan mooncakes after ordering them at the front desk for a friend's surprise – everything made me feel that this is my irreplaceable best hotel. Most of the staff spoke Cantonese, which added to the warm and friendly experience. All my friends who visited were full of praise, and some even immediately booked the same room type for the Mid-Autumn Festival. Having experienced many luxury hotels worldwide, the White Swan truly holds the top spot in my heart.

The rooms at this star-rated hotel are very comfortable, and the river view rooms offer expansive views directly overlooking the boats on the river. The service is excellent, and my child even got to swim in the pool. It's also very convenient to find places to eat nearby. We've already booked dim sum downstairs for tomorrow morning!

The room was decent, and the cleanliness was good. The hotel's pool was excellent, and the morning tea was top-notch, of course. However, on the first night, the room next door had an old person, a child, and an adult who kept opening and closing their door, and the child was noisy and shouting until midnight, which meant I didn't get to sleep until 1 AM.

Although the room rate was a bit pricey, the hotel's environment, facilities, and amenities are truly unmatched by other hotels – it's excellent value for money! Located right on the Pearl River, the surroundings are absolutely beautiful, and you get a stunning view of the wide Pearl River directly from your room. The hotel boasts a huge, well-maintained back garden, which is a rare find elsewhere. The gym and swimming pool services were excellent, and they even proactively offered an umbrella on rainy days. I'll definitely be back!

We stayed in a river-view room, and the panoramic river view was simply stunning. When the curtains slowly rose, it was truly breathtaking and delightful! The room was spacious, and the cleanliness was satisfactory, making for a very comfortable stay. The back garden was incredibly beautiful – feeding fish, swimming, and working out – our child had a wonderful time! We were fortunate to stay at the White Swan; every detail reflected perfect hospitality. Looking forward to our next visit!
