Jianguo Hotel, Guangzhou

Conveniently located, a 15-minute walk to the Guangzhou East Railway Station ticketing office. Guangzhou East Metro Station makes getting around very easy. The hotel facilities are a bit dated, but the service is excellent.

This older 5-star hotel offers great value for money, but the facilities no longer meet 5-star standards. The refrigerator is very old and noisy. Soundproofing between rooms is poor; I could clearly hear conversations from the next room at night, which is unacceptable. In summary, if you don't expect a true 5-star experience, it's a good value, with an outdoor pool and gym.

I was a bit worried before checking in, but after checking in, I felt very relieved. Considering it was during the National Day holiday, being able to stay here at an economy hotel price, I believe it offers great value for money. Firstly, the hotel's location is very convenient; it's right opposite Guangzhou East Railway Station and PO Park shopping mall, very close to the subway station, and surrounded by many restaurants. Secondly, although the hotel rooms are a bit old, they are spacious, well-equipped, and relatively soundproof. There's a swimming pool, but no laundry room. The service was also quite good. I would choose to stay here again next time.

They upgraded my room to a super king-size bed, which was incredibly comfortable for us and our child. The 2.4-meter bed was a dream to sleep in. The room facilities are a bit old, and the lighting at night is a little dim, but it's still perfectly functional and well-maintained. The biggest issue, though, is the lack of a self-service laundry room. Guangzhou is so hot that clothes just don't dry if you wash them yourself. I strongly suggest the hotel adds a self-service laundry room!

The air conditioning in the room was extremely cold 🥶, and while the bedroom was clearly renovated, the bathroom seemed to be original. The cleanliness, especially in the bathroom, needs significant improvement. Breakfast was just average, nothing special. They do have a gym and a pool, though.

The hotel is great overall. The newly renovated rooms don't feel old at all. The location is convenient for getting anywhere – right across from East Pacific Mall and Guangzhou East Railway Station. Turn right out of the hotel and walk a few dozen meters to the F exit of the subway. There's a 3-story parking garage, and a charging station next to the hotel. Plus, there are plenty of dining options nearby.

Traveling to Guangzhou this time, I brought a friend along and we stayed at the Jianguo Hotel Guangzhou – it was definitely the right choice! The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around. It's close to the East Railway Station, which makes sightseeing or transferring transportation hassle-free. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the overall environment is quiet, and the staff are warm, polite, and responsive to any issues. As for the hotel's dining, you absolutely must try the handmade dim sum at the restaurant on the fourth floor. It's authentic Cantonese flavor, freshly made by hand, and tastes great. Sitting there with friends, slowly sipping tea and chatting, creates a wonderful atmosphere. The buffet at the Western restaurant on the second floor also exceeded expectations – a rich variety of dishes, fresh ingredients, and excellent taste. Everything from dining to accommodation can be conveniently arranged at the hotel. I would choose this place again whether for a business trip or a vacation. If you're visiting near Guangzhou East Railway Station and want to experience authentic Cantonese morning tea, I sincerely recommend this hotel!
