Yu Yue Mansion

This guesthouse is a four-story building in the old Liwan district, with no elevator. The mattress in the double room is on the firm side, which I personally prefer. There's no breakfast provided, but the entire street outside is full of local specialty foods – you'll just have to figure out which ones are good. For breakfast, I recommend going to a nearby mall for Dim Sum at Tao Heung; it's affordable, delicious, and has character. It's not very convenient by subway as it's quite a distance, especially if you're carrying luggage. Overall, if you're looking to enjoy local cuisine and experience the charm of the old town, this is a good choice.

The overall decor beautifully recreates the Xiguan style, complete with a courtyard (I only took photos of the courtyard), which felt very unique. It was also a comfortable stay; the transportation was convenient, and dining options were plentiful, with Yongqingfang, the Antique City, and Guangzhou Restaurant all within walking distance. Most importantly, the staff's warm hospitality made us feel right at home. It was a great stay, and I'll definitely choose them again next time I'm in Guangzhou.

A very culturally immersive stay, keeping you steeped in the Lingnan atmosphere.

The hospitality was wonderful, and there are so many great food options right outside. It's also very close to Yongqing Fang. My kids loved the Loft style room. Highly recommend this great place to stay!

Fantastic location: Tucked away in an old Liwan street, it's walking distance to Yongqing Fang and Shangxiajiu, with authentic local eateries right outside your door – endless food options! Great atmosphere: Surrounded by old Lingnan architecture, complete with ornate tiles and courtyards. It's beautiful for photos, offering a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle. Attentive service: The staff are warm and incredibly helpful, assisting with luggage and recommending restaurants. It truly feels like staying at a friend's home. Clean and comfortable: The room is tidy, the bedding is comfortable, and despite being an old building, the facilities are well-maintained, ensuring a peaceful stay. In short, if you want to experience the most authentic Guangzhou Xiguan life, this is definitely the place to stay.

The room was great! We booked a family room, which was quite spacious. It was very quiet at night, with no noise, and the environment was lovely, making it feel like coming home. It's also super convenient to go out for food, with Guangzhou Restaurant nearby. The owner even recommended some good places to eat and visit. We'll definitely come again!

The ground floor is indeed as clean, quaint, and cat-friendly as others have mentioned in their reviews. The staff are very welcoming; they helped with luggage and recommended shopping spots, and any issues were addressed quickly. The room itself was quite small, and the desk was so tiny I didn't know where to put my laptop. I also felt the towels weren't very clean, and to my surprise, the tea cups hadn't been emptied. The shampoo was just okay; my hair felt itchy all day after using it. Overall, the room was just average, but the location is great, the ground floor is lovely, and there's a Cheung fun (rice noodle rolls) shop and a park nearby, which is very convenient. The price was reasonable for being in a tourist area.
