Shengyu Hotel(Guangzhou Tower Pazhou Convention Center Branch)

When I tried to enter my room, the door lock mysteriously wouldn't open. At first, I thought it was the key card, so I went up and down to the tenth floor twice to get it re-swiped at the front desk. This whole ordeal wasted over an hour in the middle of the night, and my friend was waiting in the hallway outside my room for more than an hour. Finally, they told me it wasn't the key card, but a problem with the door lock itself. After my persistent efforts, a hotel staff member eventually arrived and used some unknown tool to open the door for me. The ice cream I bought, which I had intended to put in the fridge for the next day, melted entirely because of the door lock issue. Yet, the hotel didn't even offer a single apology; they just opened the door and left, saying someone would come to fix it the next day. Fine, I let all that go. But then, when I checked out after three days, I was half an hour over the checkout time, and they charged me 45 yuan for the extra time. This was the worst hotel experience ever. Plus, there was no fancy welcome gift, no sewing kit, and no weighing scale – I asked the front desk about all these, and they said they didn't have them. Enter at your own risk...

I booked a room online and had no idea it was a Loft, as they didn't clearly state it. The stairs leading up were crooked, steep, and narrow, making it incredibly difficult to carry my suitcase up – I almost fell. The room's ceiling height was low, making it feel a bit cramped, and the space wasn't very large either. The window was set low, so I had to bend over to see outside. When I asked the front desk to change rooms, their attitude was unhelpful, saying there were no other rooms available. Later, they said I could change, but only if I paid extra. Their attitude remained consistently poor; they kept passing the buck, claiming it was due to financial reconciliation, which was very frustrating. I will definitely not stay here again. The transportation isn't great either; it's a 15-20 minute walk from the subway station.

The room facilities were quite basic and a bit dated. The apartment is located in the old town, and there were cockroaches in the building; I saw one as soon as I entered. The overall environment was pretty average. However, the front desk staff was very helpful and quickly resolved any issues I had.

This stay truly exceeded my expectations, a definite five-star rating! The front desk checked me in very quickly, and the staff were gentle, polite, and even offered tips on local attractions. The room was spotless, the bathroom had no odors or water stains, and the bedding was soft and fluffy. The soundproofing was excellent; I heard no noise at night and slept soundly until morning. The hot water was consistent, the AC worked well, and all the facilities were comprehensive. The hotel's location is convenient, within walking distance of shopping areas and sights. It offers incredible value for money. This will be my first choice when visiting here, and I've already recommended it to friends!

The room was great, basically like having two separate mini-bedrooms. We especially loved the kids' playroom! It was also pretty convenient for getting around.
