A good, clean hotel with a varied complimentary breakfast buffet. It's a pleasant 20-minute walk to the ocean through charming streets, and they provide towels. The beach is clean, and the water in late June was around 21°C, making for comfortable swimming. The pool has clean, chlorinated water, and there are enough sun loungers for all guests. The sauna and hammam are free.

Despite the hotel's high rating reviews, i believe it has not met the expectations due to its cost and what I experienced. First, for an hotel of its type and location, parking should be free for guests and not be paid, they even charge for different types of parking (uncovered or covered) but its the same outside parking location... Then the reception, you have some employees that are happy to welcome you and helpful and others who seem like they're always sad or mad. This shows bad management and probably bad working environment. The reception is also slow... The rooms are big but despite looking modern, you can see that it's lacking maintenance and design choices are bad. First, the toilet paper roll holder just doesn't work and the roll always falls out, then the hair dryer provided was not working. The shower drain is easy to clog and the water does not drain easily so the water overflows. The bath towels provided were dirty and had rests of dried pigeon poop on them... it was disgusting. The bedsheets also had weird black spots on them. The breakfast was good and had good variety but the employees there seem to be sad all the time...

Good place to stay in the Algarve – unfortunately we ended up in a 1st floor room (ground level) facing the parking lot. Also the shower hat problems and flooded the entire bathroom and some of the hotel room. They did something to improve, but overall it seemed like bad design and still happened a little bit afterwards. Hotel was clean, breakfast was good. I wouldn't call it a "Hotel & Spa" though – the spa facilities are quite limited, small and some were even out of order.

The service was good as the staff were always keen to help. The location is at a walking distance to the Gale beach. However, there were flying ants keeping coming into the room, although hotel helped us to clean up for once.

The hotel leaves much to be desired for a 4-star hotel. The spa is very bad (only Turkish bath and sauna). The room is good. The parking is a farce. Either you pay or you have to park 200m away in an unguarded parking lot, etc. I think it's not worth the price.
