Johannesburg Hotels with Gym

We had a wonderful stay and truly experienced some of the best hotel service of our entire South Africa trip. The staff went far beyond our expectations — always warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, which made us feel so welcomed and well looked after throughout our stay. The hotel is located in a very nice and safe neighborhood, giving us great peace of mind while exploring the area. We also loved the room design — beautifully styled, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out, making it a perfect place to relax after a day out. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The service from the front desk, restaurant staff, and housekeeping team was excellent throughout our visit. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport. I would recommend taking an Uber. We arranged airport transportation through the hotel and were charged R750 one way. The shuttle was not private, as there was another passenger traveling to a different hotel. The location is excellent. The hotel is right next to a shopping mall with supermarkets, pharmacies, cafés, fast-food outlets, and a good selection of restaurants, making it very convenient. The room was comfortable and well maintained. Although it faced a busy road, the traffic noise did not bother us at all. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience and would definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Pros: 1. Location in Rosebank is perfect. Walking distance to Rosebank Mall, eateries, bars, restaurants 2. Staff were lovely and took great pride in the Radisson brand. We had a foul smell in the room we were in (from the bathroom). They actioned it promptly by sending maintenance, and also offering a new room to move to, they were kind about it and encouraged us to move to ensure we had a happy stay. 3. Location. Location. Location. I know I said it already but felt super safe here, which is exactly what I wanted. Security guard’s outside. Staff around the clock. Easy access. Cons: 1. The hotel itself is dated. Needs a bit of love to bring it on par with other hotels in the area like Hyde. 2. Things like towels and floor mats really need a spruce / clean out. Some were haggered and stained.

This hotel is was definitely one of my favorite stays. I made my booking around 7pm for a stay later that same night, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating throughout the entire process. The rooms are impeccably clean and wonderfully spacious, easily ranking among the best hotel accommodations I've experienced during my visits to Johannesburg. The attention to detail and commitment to guest comfort is evident in every aspect of this wonderful establishment. From the warm welcome at the front desk to the well-appointed, comfortable rooms, this hotel has exceeded my expectations and solidified its position as one of my top preferred places to stay in the city. Although bathrooms may need a bit of an upgrade, I am confident that I will be returning to this hotel on my future visits to Johannesburg.

Southern Sun Rosebank is truly an amazing place to stay. From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere feels welcoming, professional, and well-organized. The staff go above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable, always offering friendly service with a smile. The rooms are clean, modern, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day. The hotel’s location is perfect, with easy access to nearby shopping areas, restaurants, and key attractions, which makes it very convenient whether you're visiting for business or leisure. The food is another highlight — fresh, delicious, and with a great variety to suit different tastes. The overall environment is peaceful yet vibrant, giving you the best of both comfort and energy. What really stands out is the attention to detail and the consistent quality of service. Everything feels well-managed and thoughtfully designed to ensure a pleasant experience. Overall, Southern Sun Rosebank delivers an excellent stay and is definitely a place worth visiting again.

I loved everything about this hotel. I got drinks menu on arrival which was served free of charge, wasn’t expecting that in South Africa🤪🤪 Check in was super quicknand smooth, beautiful room with proper amenities. The hotel is in a good location sorrounded by nature. The services was 10/10, with super friendly and helful staff. I was impressed by the breakfast options and the restaurant itself….stunning and aesthetically pleasing. I didn’t like their cocktails menu🥺🥺 they don’t have classic ones. 90% of their cocktails are made with sminorf 18/18 which isn’t cool. Overall, this is a great hotel and would definitely come back!

It was lovely. Staff were friendly and accommodating and arranged airport pickup. The breakfast was lovely as well as room service. Will definitely stay here again if visiting Jhb. 💕❤️ The rooms were clean although amenities needed to be requested suxh as robes, slippers, shower gel, shampoo etc - not really nice after a long flight. As well as water, so if this could be provided first that would make it even great.

The hotel apartments are situated in a great location. Everything seemed to be going well until the first night. There was a lot of noose coming from the corridor and outside due to a construction site. When someone in another apartment unit was showering, I could hear the water running while in my room (early hours of the morning). Would assume that since guests stay there that the windows would be insulated against noise. The bedding wasn’t clean - felt sandy and extremely itchy. I had red marks on my arm after my stay which makes me wonder if there were bed bugs.

It's giving more 3 than 4 stars? Customer service poor. Holiday Inn was full so this was a close alternative. Had amenities but their outlets were in the kitchen far from the bed? Not very business traveller or relaxing traveller friendly. I booked a queen studio which had a kitchenette which was great for warming food etc. Decor a bit tired so could do with some love. But apart from a very dirty bottle left on the balcony it was clean. Location is excellent for Rosebank Mall even if you have to play chicken to cross the road 😆 Customer service was severely lacking. I thought Radisson Red staff were slow but at least they were always there. You can't call frontdesk . It's all QR codes and WhatsApp. Late check out would be the cost of another night R1980. Staff had a, I dunno attitude and werent very helpful. 1 security guard and 1 young lady in the lounge are the only exceptions. Outlets in the lounge and office were local only and I had to really ask to get where I could buy adapters / converters. Next time I'll go elsewhere. They're not customer focused enough for me.

I have stayed at the Quatermain before, and I am happy to say that the whole experience was once again just lovely! I had arrived VERY early on my check-in day and the staff made sure that I had a room well before the scheduled check-in time AND they upgraded me too! The staff at the hotel are friendly, helpful and all round just a delight!! Even with the ongoing challenges that loadshedding (scheduled power outtages) brings to the smooth operation of any business. The gardens are immaculate and tranquil, and it is unbelievable to think you are in the middle of everything with the peace and quiet that pervades. The little bistro / restaurant's menu is thankfully limited, as it means that the quality can be assured and anything that is made tastes deliciously homemade. The evening buffet is very good value for money! Just a small note that due to loadshedding, sometimes the email/booking system gives some issues - so don't forget to just follow up once booked :)
