I honestly can't believe this is an InterContinental hotel. The hygiene was really concerning. When I entered the room, I saw dust bunnies all over the floor (like in pic 1). The bathroom had a strange odor, which seemed to be masked by an overly fragrant spray, creating a really weird mix of smells. The hairdryer was an old, outdated model; I don't care about the brand, but it's seriously time for an upgrade. The minibar was chargeable, and the only complimentary items were the 3-in-1 instant coffee shown in pic 2. The most ridiculous thing was that the public restroom on the floor below the lobby had no lights on (pic 3)! And that floor has a lot of foot traffic, it's not like it's a deserted area. The breakfast had a wide variety, but nothing was actually tasty, haha. I practically survived on omelets. However, the hotel offers excellent views, and while the room wasn't huge, the balcony was spacious. Sitting on the balcony, feeling the sea breeze, and watching the sunset was absolutely superb. Overall, this hotel is more like a Hualuxe business hotel in terms of quality. Only the name has been upgraded, nothing else. The price is cheap for an InterContinental, but expensive for a Hualuxe.

The room had a great view, but the facilities were quite old. The air conditioning wasn't very effective, and to top it off, the ceiling leaked in the middle of the night. While they fixed it quickly, the hotel didn't offer any compensation. On top of there being no washing machine, there wasn't even a drying rack on the balcony. Overall, the hotel needs to improve a lot when it comes to service details.

As a returning guest, I once again booked an apartment-style room. It comes with a kitchen, washing machine, and a large refrigerator. The room is very spacious, with a separate bedroom and living area. It's quiet, the views are pleasant, and enjoying a cup of iced coffee in the morning sun is delightful. The only drawback is that the decor is 11 years old, and some of the facilities are showing their age. There's a small commercial area about 300 meters from the hotel. You need to use your key card to enter and exit through the small gate at the westernmost end of the ground floor's garden view. It has bars, Starbucks, Lawson, Pizza Hut, and local dessert shops, which is very convenient.

The room facilities are quite old. The living room lighting is dim, the sliding door of the bathroom cannot close completely and the rollers are not smooth. No matter how gently you close the toilet's glass door, there's a loud noise. Both the shower and toilet glass doors don't seal properly, causing water to spill out when showering. One of the two stovetops in the kitchen was unusable. When I asked the room service, they said it was due to the old age of the room and couldn't be fixed, so only one induction cooker could be used. The provided pots and pans were not very clean, and there were no kitchen cleaning supplies. If you really want to cook, you'd need to buy your own dish soap to wash the pots. We chose this hotel with our child because it had a kitchen and offered a baby crib, but: 1. The quality of the baby crib was concerning. The bottom board of the provided baby crib A had large gaps that couldn't close, posing a safety hazard. If the child pressed hard, there was a risk of injury. After requesting a replacement, the wooden baby crib B had a wooden base that couldn't be secured firmly and even seemed to be broken. If the child stood on it, they would fall through, which was very dangerous. The hotel didn't have any other suitable and safe baby cribs for toddlers who can stand. The final solution was to put thick floor mats and bedding together on crib A to ensure the child wouldn't hit their head (kudos to the room service staff for their active response and communication, providing the best possible solution given the existing facilities). 2. In the breakfast restaurant, some high chair safety belts were broken and unusable, making them unsuitable for small children. No one helped with luggage upon check-in. The washing machine in the room worked very well; the wash and dry combo was very convenient.

The five-star rating goes to the service. Our butler, Ari, was incredibly responsive, practically replying instantly even during the National Day holiday. The reception staff in the lobby and the cleaning ladies were also wonderful and very friendly towards children. The lobby is beautiful and smells lovely. However, the room itself was a huge disappointment. We stayed in an Executive Sea View room, and while the view was good, the room had an extremely strong musty smell. Our butler promptly brought a dehumidifier, but it didn't help much, and it would alarm when full in the middle of the night. The breakfast and executive lounge food were just average. I'm not sure why the minibar was chargeable; I haven't encountered a paid minibar in a long time... especially when several of the drinks were freely available in the lounge. Overall, the experience was quite mixed. Beyond that, the unbearable musty smell in the room was the main issue. I definitely wouldn't recommend it if you're traveling with children.

The InterContinental Sanya Haitang Bay Resort is truly luxurious. Our butler, Ari, was incredibly responsive, which was a thoughtful touch. The assigned room had a beautiful ocean view with expansive vistas; you could even see the sea from the bed. There were plenty of activities for kids, keeping them entertained and giving parents some peace of mind. The breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, catering to different tastes. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, perfect for a family vacation.

The environment here is comfortable, clean, and the service is warm and friendly. I highly recommend it! It's also very convenient for dining out, getting around, and shopping nearby. The night view is especially beautiful, and in the evenings, you can take a super pleasant stroll along the seaside, enjoying the sea breeze.
