Hakodate Kokusai Hotel

The hotel environment is beautiful, and the hot spring offers a panoramic view, making for a very relaxing soak. The room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped. The staff were attentive and thoughtful, responding promptly to check-in requests and questions. The location is good, making it convenient for getting around. My solo stay was excellent, quiet and comfortable, perfect for a relaxing vacation in Hakodate. Highly recommended.

This hotel was fantastic, the best one we stayed at during our Hokkaido trip. Their famous breakfast truly lived up to the hype and was amazing! The location is also excellent. We booked a sea-view room in the West Wing, offering views of the ocean and Mashu Maru. The hotel's pillows were so comfortable that my mom actually bought one to take home. The shampoo was also great; my hair didn't get greasy even after three days of use. The onsen (hot spring) was lovely, with nice night views and even free popsicles. They really make sure you're well-fed and pampered! If I had to pick a downside, it would be the sheer number of people. We had to queue and get a number for breakfast, and the onsen was packed. I guess it's because the hotel is so popular. There were a lot of Japanese guests, and they were quick to grab sashimi at breakfast, haha. The facilities score a bit lower because the room I stayed in felt a little dated.

The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and the location is super convenient for getting around. There's a bus stop right by the hotel, and you can easily walk to the Hakodate Morning Market. The top-floor hot spring is great, and the breakfast offers a wide variety, with both Western and Japanese options.

The room was decent. The rooftop hot spring was a thrill – stepping outside into the cool air while still warm from the bath was quite an experience, a real 'fire and ice' sensation. Plus, they offered free popsicles, which tasted a bit like the famous ones from Harbin.
