The hotel is very close to Hakone-Yumoto Station, right on the main street, with many convenience stores and restaurants nearby. We booked a two-meal-one-night plan. The hot springs were comfortable, and the food was decent. Both breakfast and dinner changed daily, which was a nice surprise. The staff were friendly and helpful, and while their English wasn't perfect, basic communication was fine. The room was clean and comfortable, but due to its age, the facilities were a bit dated. Overall, it was a good holiday experience.

Great value for money! The room was a bit old, but the public areas were lovely and had a nice Japanese drama vibe. It was pouring rain the day I went, and having the outdoor public bath all to myself while it was coming down was amazing. It's very close to the station, just a few minutes' walk, and the path is easy to navigate. I honestly expected it to be terrible for the price, as I arrived late in Hakone and had to leave early the next day, so I just wanted a bed to sleep in. But it totally exceeded my expectations. It's not luxurious, but perfectly adequate for a stay.

I took a video showing the private onsen room in one continuous shot, and the hot spring water runs 24/7, so you can always enjoy a soak whenever you want. The room is really spacious, with a large living room, a smaller lounge area, a pantry, and even a double vanity in the bathroom, plus a separate vanity room. When booked in advance for two people, including breakfast and dinner, it ranges from 2500-3200 per night. I hope Trip.com adds more package options, as the hotel actually offers upgraded dining experiences too. I also had a massage at the hotel; with the favorable Japanese exchange rate, the price was quite reasonable in RMB, and the technique was very comfortable.

Beautiful older style hotel, staff are attentive , baths are beautiful and comfortable beds, amenities is nice too with dyson hsirdryer. Fantastic location. The only downside is room a little outdated with mould on the ceiling and inside the wardrobe.

A place stagnate in time, with timeless charm and good environment. Located conveniently nearby to Yumoto Station is a great plus for laid back area of Hakone. Service staff are friendly and attentive to details, and have no difficulty to communicate in English. Recommended for slow pace holiday

I was quite worried before my visit, having seen many mixed reviews online. However, I decided to stick with this hotel, primarily due to its excellent location very close to Yumoto Station, which makes getting around incredibly convenient. Upon arrival, I personally found it to be excellent. First off, the room was very spacious. Although the amenities were a bit dated (still using traditional button switches instead of a modern key card system), the vintage charm of this traditional Japanese-style room was actually quite nice. Secondly, staying in a room with a private outdoor onsen at the foot of the mountain during summer, I was delighted to find no mosquitoes. I only spotted one unidentified bug on the day I checked in, and never saw another insect afterwards. What's more, the onsen water was continuously circulating, so the surface was always clean with no debris. Enjoying a hot spring bath at night while stargazing was truly blissful. The breakfast and dinner portions initially looked small, served as individual dishes, but by the end, I was completely stuffed and couldn't finish it all! (𖦹.𖦹) Finally, the overall service was impeccable, from the check-in process at the front desk to the staff attending to us during breakfast and dinner.

The hotel was the worst experience we had this trip to Japan, even though it was the most expensive per night stay compared to the other hotels we stayed in this trip. The hotel should never have sold this room to anyone. Although the location was great and hotel facilities such as onsen were decent, this particular room was completely unfit for staying. The hotel assigned us room #325. We found the room to be too hot for our comfort, but there was no way for us to lower the temperature of the air conditioning. We could not open the window to cool down the room because the outside (1) stinks, (2) was noisy from many air compressors, and (3) has easy access to our room. The hotel tried to resolve the issue by giving us a mobile water fan to cool down the room. Nevertheless, it still did not sufficiently cool down the room, and was very noisy. In addition, the toilet also had bad smell from drainage pipes. We did have a good sleep that night and were very disappointed even though we enjoyed Hakone, the town, very much.

Excellent! This onsen ryokan, operating for over 70 years, boasts 9 natural spring sources, a clear testament to its authentic *gensen kakenagashi* (free-flowing hot spring water) system. It's a short, convenient walk from the station. The bamboo grove at the entrance is exquisitely maintained, and we were welcomed by female staff in traditional attire. The gentleman who handled our check-in had a wonderfully distinctive charm. Our room was very spacious, with large floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views of the river and distant mountains – truly beautiful. We had booked a Japanese-style room with a semi-open-air private bath, including the 'one night, two meals' plan. Before dinner, an attendant came to greet us, and then the elaborate multi-course kaiseki meal was served. The entire dining experience lasted nearly two hours. While the ingredients were intricate and well-presented, it wasn't 'delicious' in a conventional way, though certainly not unpleasant. I suppose that's just how traditional kaiseki is, and I appreciate the experience. Afterwards, a staff member prepared our futon beds for the night. Soaking in the private onsen before bed was incredibly relaxing. The hot spring water was continuously flowing, and a notice on the wall detailed its composition, stating that only water was added to lower the temperature, along with chlorine for disinfection, and crucially, no circulation system was used. This is significant because many other onsen ryokans might offer beautiful gardens, attractive prices, and even private indoor baths, but a closer look often reveals they might just be using plain heated water or circulated onsen water. The impeccable service was almost overwhelming. Overall, I highly recommend this ryokan to anyone looking for an authentic Japanese onsen experience. If I were to visit again, I would probably opt out of the two meals package. The kaiseki was a unique experience, but once is enough, and there are many dining options on the walk from the station.

Breakfast and dinner were both lavish Kaiseki meals. The hot spring bath was conveniently located on the 6th floor. As for transportation, it's extremely convenient, with Hakone-Yumoto Station right outside the door.

Great location! We stayed in a river view room and the hot springs were lovely. However, I had an allergic reaction to the toiletries, which has never happened to me before. I didn't realize it at first, so after resting for a night, I didn't dare use their toiletries again.

Recently, there have been many news reports about discriminatory treatment against Chinese people, and I truly experienced it at this hotel. When we checked in, the air conditioner in room 409 was broken. The room was extremely hot. We asked to change rooms, but they said all rooms were full. The staff just told us to turn off the AC, which was already very annoying, especially in winter. Even worse, the money in our wallet in room 408 disappeared! We are certain the money was lost at the hotel. From check-in to check-out, the small bag containing the wallet was always in the room, and only four 10,000 notes were missing, while all other money remained. During this time, only the housekeeping staff entered and exited the room. We always locked the door when we went in and out. It's obvious who took the money. The hotel's attitude was very negative. Ctrip, who was not at fault, was very proactive in helping us. I strongly advise Chinese travelers not to book this hotel; they won't help you with any issues you encounter!

The hotel's ambiance was exceptionally comfortable, far exceeding my expectations. I highly recommend the open-air private onsen room; it spares you the awkwardness of public baths, featuring an incredibly spacious room and a private garden. The room rate included both breakfast and a traditional kaiseki dinner. The meals were exquisitely prepared, and dinner was accompanied by a traditional Japanese vocal performance, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in traditional Japanese culture.

The hotel has a very authentic Japanese style. Its interior is also beautiful, making it a perfect spot for photos. Both meals provided were Japanese-style; after booking a specific time, guests are escorted to a private dining room to enjoy them. The dishes were beautifully presented and a feast for the eyes. A relaxing bath after dinner was perfect for unwinding. My only regret is that my stay was a bit rushed this time; I should have planned for more time to fully experience everything.
