Hakone Yumoto Onsen Hakoneji Kaiun

The room was spacious and very comfortable. We opted for the private hot spring, which was easy to book at the front desk for JPY 2200. Breakfast was Japanese style, with dishes prepared in advance based on room number, and the dining experience was excellent. The price was reasonable for the time of year, and the location is super convenient, just an 8-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station. It's perfect for first-time visitors who aren't familiar with the area, and you can easily walk to dinner spots near the station without having to hike up hills. The only downside was that the front desk staff member was a bit aloof. He'd tilt his head and say 'thank you for your patronage' while looking elsewhere, which felt a bit dismissive. I hope they can improve on that!

The all-you-can-can-eat ice cream after a hot bath and the coffee were absolutely delightful! Plus, the free-to-rent games, table tennis, and mini-golf meant there wasn't enough time in one day to enjoy everything.

I personally love sleeping in hotels where I can hear the sound of water; it helps me sleep really well, but that's just a personal preference. The staff, an auntie and uncle who are probably both over 60, provided excellent service. I actually prefer older staff members; their work ethic shows a respect for the value of their time, unlike younger people who might be ready to switch jobs at any moment. The hot spring and meals were perfectly aligned with the price!

Extremely satisfied with this accommodation. All services, including the food, staff attitude, and all facilities, made us feel very comfortable. We found it to be excellent value for money. I will definitely recommend it to my family for future stays.
