Meteor Garden

Meteor Garden is located conveniently 5-7min drive from main Hakuba Village. One thing to note is that the main cafe in the stay is not open so need to find other dining alternatives. Rooms and amenities are clean and well maintained, the one issue is that it’s not well marked on Google map as it keeps pointing to the restaurant which was not opened and gave us a false alarm. Wifi is not the fastest and does not handle multiple devices that well especially when you are trying to work. There was some confusion when booked via Trip as the contact information was somehow truncated so hotel was unable to contact me without going through Trip thus messages were delayed. Overall it was an enjoyable stay and everyone had a great time…

I booked the single bed room, it was great, comfy bed, smaller space (expected) but I had room for all of my stuff. Bathrooms were clean. Ski storage was warm!! Gear has no problem drying out at all. I packed my own boot dryers but didn’t need to use them once. Outside the gear room is ski waxing/tuning bench. I never used it, but they had a scraper and some screw drivers. Great set-up. Location is good, close to 7-11 made it very convenient. Walk to echo land was about 15 minutes, perfect for me. Did not really want to stay in the middle of the action, but close enough to it. All roads in winter are very slippery, even if you have good boots, I’d recommend bringing some cleats or spikes that wrap around your footwear. I bought some really good ones from the sports store down the road 7000 jpy. Made walking SOO much easier and relaxed. At least buy some cheap ones on Amazon before you go. It will help 100%. Saw some sober people get pretty banged up too. Not just drunk ones . I will 100% try to stay here when i return.

If you are looking for an easy access to the mountains at a good price it is the place to go. The room was very clean and the mattress very comfortable. We had a room w/out bathrooms so we used the common bathroom and it was very clean and organized, they provided you with towels, shampoo, conditioners and soap like any hotel bathroom would. They also have a laundry room where soap and dry sheets are available to be used for free. The only down size for me was the internet in my room was on and off making very difficult to use it. The room did not have a small lamp you either have the full light of the room on or you stay in the dark. We did not use the parking area but I would believe is free. The shuttle for the mountains stops in front of the hotel or a few builds up depending where you are going.
