The location of the hotel is great for accessing Halifax centre. There is no free parking on site but does sit right next to a multistorey carpark that has plenty of space (£12 for 24hrs). The room itself was comfortable but the only downside was the noise - the hotel sits on a very busy, large traffic island and is also next to the ambulance station exit which means through the night the traffic noise and sirens was constant. Better sound proofing in the rooms that are facing the road would have helped with a better night's sleep. The biggest let down was the breakfast. Served over the beefeater, we opted for a slightly later breakfast (09:30 where the breakfast ends at 10:30) and really would expect the same level of service and food as the earlier slots. Self service foods had not been restocked at all, very limited fruit offering, leaking coffee machine, no brown bread. We opted for the cooked to order cooked breakfast and despite it being cooked to order, when it arrived, it was cold. Bacon was overcooked to the point of it being unrecognisable, beans and eggs were already cold when served to the table. Top tips: take ear plugs and probably avoid breakfast if you like it cooked!
