The room was ok but the place is totally run down. The last day even the elevator did not work for „maintenance“. A major hassle as I have a knee injury and was on the top floor. Staff cannot be bothered  to even greet but gives the vibe that we should not disturb them in their private conversation. Also I had to pay a deposit.. Honestly annoying, in all my travels in different countries in the world that was the very first time. If you don’t have to, don’t book with them!

I always stay here in Hamilton. It's such good value. It's a classic hotel, it means it's a bit old...but it has enormous comfortable rooms and it's right in the city.

Enjoyed my one night stay on a Thursday night in October. Room - Superior Queen #110. $92 nzd. Pros -Cheap -Comfy mattress -Great location -Clean -Spacious room and bathroom -Heat pump which was on when i arrived which kept the room at a comfy temp. -Kind front desk woman on arrival. -Old world architecture. Cons -Noisy heat pump (albeit grateful there was one) -No sound insulation so can hear footsteps easily. -Bed was 2 x singles pushed together and had to sleep either side of the gap. Tip - book a superior room type. It's my experience these are better quality. When you book the lead in room category (deluxe) they're cheaper for a reason. I would return but not on a Friday or Saturday as the sound of the street noise and night clubs would be heard easily. Thanks for a nice stay.

Comfortable and clean rooms. Very good size room

The overall experience was not that great. Had a major issue with the toilet not flushing.

We didn’t enjoy our stay it was noisy and not so clean.  The hotel needs to be refurbished.

The lift shook from side to side as it passed the mezazine floor, which you can't access The carpet is wearing out and has been patched where it had gone into a hole There was complementary handwash which was empty and not replaced the whole time we were there The Grout around the tiles in the shower is black and the shower head is black as if it is either rusting or it hadn't been cleaned The base of the Queen bed had a hole in it and the mattresses were very hard The pipes in the parking underneath the building was leaking and the air-conditioning duct pipe is broken One lot of windows in the room had no catch on the window and it had a big piece of polystyrene behind it The window appeared to open into the wall cavity There is a fridge, electric jug and complementary tea, coffee, sugar and milk which was replenished daily along with any used towels I was disappointed that there was no microwave, so you either had to eat out or make sure you didn't have anything that needed heating They have got American toilets, so the water is 3/4 of the way up the toilet bowl and goes down when you flush it and then fills back up The photos on the website are old photos which makes it look very nice but it's nowhere near as nice as the photos

Good location and room very large . The rooms are Antique decorate. But I like.

Disappointed with the overall experience. The room decor was tired and needs revamping. One light only going in the room. On sitting on chair back was broken. After showering water seeped onto floor and floor became slippery. Toilet had to be flushed twice after use. I understand tea/coffee/milk is complimentary however a bit more milk would be nice.On booking through this website checkout time was stated as being befor 11. However on arrival was told checkout was at 10. For me personally the only plus was it's location. I would not use this hotel again.

Perfectly serviceable room. Enormous in fact. Bed was super comfy and the location put me right in the heart of the city.

The hotel is old-fashioned, but if you want to stay only one night is alright. Everything, what I needed was close enough. The staff was helpful and friendly.

The place is old and smells musty and damp. The location doesn’t make up for the poor ammenities.
