Embassy Suites by Hilton Hampton Convention Center

I had a good time at the Embassy Suite, it was an official trip to LaRC and the drive to LaRC is only 10 minutes. There are many restaurants nearby as well. In general, I had a good stay and the suite was great.

Nice hotel…did not like that there was trash and dirty linen in hallway across from my room

The location was about 15 mins from CNU, chose to stay here because the hotels near CNU didnt have good reviews. Parking was $13.50, check in was easy, the room they selected for me wasn't ready when I checked in after 6pm, so they gave me another room. This room wasn't as clean or up to par like I know a Embassy can be. There was grease on ottoman, cereal in the floor, the molding was coming apart beside the fridge and my sheet was ripped. Breastfast was great, no lines, plenty of food, never waited for the food to be refilled. I will stay again if in the area.

The location was very convenient on a strip with restaurants and things for kids to do. It was also very relaxing with a cocktail hour anda hors d’oeuvre bar, which is very convenient if you want to unwind before going to your room also if you need to do any work the rooms have all you need .. I find it a very good area to work in .. the cleanliness is definitely top-tier and the fact that they have a printing system downstairs so that you can make copies or do anything you needfor work and overall great atmosphere of work or play

We are at the Embassy Suites from 11/6 – 11/10. We requested an ADA-accessible room with a walk-in shower due to a stroke suffered 19 months ago. Much to my surprise was the height of the king-size bed. The bed consisted of a frame and mattress only, no base unit/box spring. It is nearly impossible to get out of bed because it is so low to the ground. When I sit at the side of the bed, my knees are higher than where I sit on the mattress. Logistically and physically for a person to transition from a sitting to a standing position, the knee must be at least at a 90-degree angle or more to comfortably get up. Consider the example of a healthy person attempting to stand up while sitting in an old chair with a very old cushion and upon sitting sinks through the cushion. Imagine the difficulty of standing up from that chair. Several employees confirmed that the beds of ALL the ADA- accessible rooms did not have a base unit between the frame and the mattress. The bed appeared to accommodate guests of short stature, including individuals with dwarfism. When I asked the reasons behind the height of the bed, I was told to reduce the risk of falling. My question is how a person can have a fall when the person can't get up!! By the way, we had to sleep on the sofa pull-out bed!! I have been a Hilton Honors member for over 25 years. This is my worst experience!!

Located right next to NekoCon hotel was clean easy to check in and check out and great to use with a microwave coffee machine and refrigerator

A true gem in the beautiful quiet corner of Connecticut. The Hampton General Store is quaint, inviting, friendly and gives you that hometown feeling with the added attraction of having some of the greatest "ready to eat" dinners that I have experienced. Truly, this general store reminds you of an updated version of the stores our grandparents shopped in years ago. Absolutely amazing. This spring, I happened to stop in to the Hampton General Store while passing through Hampton while on CT Rte. 97. As I walked in the store, I immediately was thrown back into a time that I used to hear about from my grandparents and great grandparents; local jellies, great (and I mean great) sandwiches, cookies, muffins, fun things to look at, old fashioned soda "pop," but, what really stood out for me and everyone that I shared this food with was the home cooked, absolutely perfect, pre made meals. I first purchased the meatloaf. At first bite, menories flooded my brain. This was exactly like what my mom created and put out for her growing family so many years ago. Not fancy but extremely tasty, juicy, well prepared, excellent portion size with old fashioned mashed potatoes. When you put the first forkful of meatloaf into your mouth, your taste buds explode with enjoying the flavor and your remember the love only a mom can provide. What a memory. What a taste. Since that time, I have been back more than just a few times. I have to share three of their other dinners that stood out with each morsel that entered my mouth, was an experience in phenomenal home cooking. First, the Shepherds Pie. Growing up in an ethnic family, my Irish/Italian mother knew exactly what to do to make this favorite dish as well as how to make her shepherd's pie really leave a long lasting memory of "feel goodness" in your stomach and in your head. Hampton General Store's version is quite the same as was made by my mother and what I ate in my travels all over Ireland. Wow. Other meals that were just wonderful were the Beef Bourgeon and the Beef Stroganoff- the gravy, the meat, the perfect pasta. You just do not think you will get this tremendous quality or taste from someone else's kitchen. The owner and chef really puts her soul into these meals. Incidentally, on a recent visit to New York City, I had the occasion to eat in Cafe Un, Deux, Trois, a French restaurant in the theater district. As I love Beef Bourguignon, I ordered it there and it was excellent. This is not an easy dish to create yet, when I purchased this dinner at the Hampton General Store, memories of that NYC restaurant came flooding back to me. As with Julia Childs recipe, the chef at the Hampton General Store proudly flaunts that she follows Childs' recipe. She well incorporates each of the key elements including (and you can taste this) searing beef in bacon, using quality red wine (I think a Pinot Noir but not sure) to create a velvety, thick sauce, and separately cooking mushrooms and onions to ensure perfect textu

I was here for the weekend to attend the midatlantic aglow conference, upon my arrival i was welcomed by Tim who went above and beyond by opening my doors set up my parking, and took my baggage all the way up to my room!!! Imagine the delight and relief off my shoulders with that level of service!! Thank you Tim!!
