The Landing at Hampton Marina, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

The hotel was the perfect location for the conference that I attended. However, the stay was less perfect. For a hotel of this caliber and cost, one should not have to experience what I encountered: water leaking from the shower in the bathroom on the floor above, the fan continuously blowing, an inability to adjust the temperature, and mold around the window sills. The staff was very apologetic but unable to accommodate me because of my booking through a third party. I am not a satisfied customer

My room was very dusty. The hotel was fine for a one night stay while we visited Hampton University.

Love the front desk. Attanayo is amazing. Loved the end room. Two LARGE windows, one overlooking water! Parking is easy in their parking deck. They also had trivia in the lobby bar on Fridays. I didn’t participate because I was traveling with my son, but it looked really fun and lively. I love when hotels have activities! Only negative was shower seemed slippery (but had plenty of handrails) and shower head is not made for tall people. This is my 2nd time at property and I loved it both times.

Front desk staff was very nice and welcoming. Room was pretty clean; aside from the shower floor, which could have been cleaned better. Room could use more outlets. I would stay here again.

The property itself was updated. Although it may look historic on the outside the inside was beautiful. I love the hotel scent that they have. The staff was amazing and checked in on text everyday. The room was really boutique ish which I love. Everything looked kept up. Very peaceful near the water. The bed was soft. Only thing I didn’t like were the bathroom doors. They were barn doors but needed better closure. They also offer igloos which are cool. There is plenty of seating in the downstairs area. So you never feel like you can’t chill out down there. Although no microwave in your room there is a microwave on the first floor lobby area to use which I appreciate. Breakfast menu was small but food had flavor but took long. I’m guessing they need more staff in the kitchen. The bar staff was cool.

I am extremely disappointed with my stay. I paid $325 expecting a clean, quality room, especially after requesting a presidential suite, and this was far from that. The first room was unacceptable, so we requested a change but the second room was no better. There were holes in the walls where you could see wires, and even a hole in the bathroom ceiling. The vents were full of visible dust, and overall cleanliness was very poor. The bathroom was especially disappointing. The tub looked like something out of a hospital delivery room, not a suite. We specifically asked if the room had a soaking tub and were told no, yet the property’s own website shows otherwise, which was very misleading. There were also inconsistencies between rooms the first room had a mirror, while the second did not, which made the downgrade even more frustrating. On top of that, there wasn’t even a microwave available, which is a basic amenity you would expect at this price point. Overall, the hotel felt extremely outdated, poorly maintained, and not worth anywhere near what I paid. This was not the experience that was advertised or promised. I am requesting a refund due to the unacceptable conditions and misleading information.

Room had wrinkled bedding and bathroom had rough maintenance (over caulked and crooked outlets for example)

While this property shows promise, there are several significant concerns that warrant serious attention.Most critically, during our stay we experienced a safety incident in which a barn door in the bathroom became dislodged while being opened. The door nearly struck my children, and was only prevented from causing injury because I was able to catch it in time. This type of structural hazard is unacceptable & requires immediate remediation, not a temporary fix. The bathrooms & rooms overall are in need of proper, thorough renovation (stains on wall + sink). When I brought this safety concern to the attention of the Front Office Manager, Attonayo Branch, I found his response to be dismissive & unprofessional. Rather than acknowledging the severity of the incident, he stated he was unaware of the issue and indicated he was preoccupied with billing & the volume of check-ins. This level of response is inadequate when a guest’s safety, particularly that of children, has been compromised. I want to note that the maintenance team & front desk staff handled the situation with genuine empathy & professionalism, which I appreciated. While the marina views and proximity to Hampton University are appealing, they don’t offset safety hazards, deferred maintenance, or deficiencies in management-level leadership. I strongly encourage ownership & senior management to review both the physical condition of the rooms & the guest-relations standards expected of managerial staff.

Great room with a water view on the upper floors, VERY comfortable bed and the pillows were magnificent!!
