InterContinental Hangzhou Wulin by IHG

Check-in: The hotel lobby is beautiful and well-designed. As a Platinum 40n member, my lounge benefits weren't automatically recognized, but after I mentioned it, they offered breakfast on the second floor. The elevators were a bit slow. The lounge on the 25th floor closes at 9 PM, but by 8:58 PM, they were no longer serving. Room: I received a one-category upgrade. While not exceptionally large, the space was very well laid out. There was a handwritten welcome card with fruit and pastries. The in-room record player felt very upscale, though the sound quality wasn't great and had some static. From the 11th floor, you could see a glimpse of West Lake. The minibar was chargeable. Breakfast: Delicious! It's pretty much the best breakfast among IHG hotels in Hangzhou. The Pian'er Chuan noodles were tasty, and they had freshly squeezed juices and banana milk. Overall, it wasn't too crowded. Check-out: They gave me custom bear-shaped butter cookies, which was a nice touch. Thumbs up!

The only downside is that the room rates fluctuate quite a bit during holidays, becoming much more expensive than usual. On the bright side, they offered complimentary breakfast for all the kids, which was a nice touch. Parking was a bit tricky the first time, but it became manageable after a couple of tries.

Traveling to Hangzhou for the Qingming Festival, I carefully selected hotels online and chose the InterContinental. We stayed in an executive room for two nights, and we were warmly greeted by Ms. Irane, who provided thoughtful and excellent service. The hotel stay was comfortable, the facilities were new, and the breakfast was very rich. We cycled to West Lake, which was crowded, but the spring breeze was gentle and pleasant. It was an unforgettable trip, and the InterContinental is definitely worth choosing.

The location is excellent, very close to Wulin Night Market and the subway station. The area around is bustling, and it's not too far from West Lake. The breakfast here is also quite outstanding compared to other InterContinental hotels. One suggestion: it seems the TV doesn't support screen mirroring?

The hotel has a unique design and offers views of West Lake, which is lovely. The only downside is that breakfast was quite chaotic. However, the front desk service was excellent.

This Intercontinental is relatively new, and both the service and hygiene are excellent. The bedding is very comfortable and spacious, the toiletries are great, and the bathtub is huge, though the shower stall is a bit small. Parking is a real hassle; there's no dedicated parking lot. The double-decker parking spots in the center are quite inconvenient. After parking, you have to take an elevator and walk through the shopping center to reach the hotel's side entrance.

The hotel is relatively new, and the decor is in line with the InterContinental style. The rooms and concierge service are quite good and they listen to customer feedback. Overall, it's pretty good, but the foreign general manager was a bit off-putting. He spent the entire breakfast period walking around with his arms crossed, and even when I finished my meal and walked past him, he didn't uncross his arms. This is China; if you're making money from Chinese people, you should have a proper attitude. In the service industry, no matter your nationality or position, you're still a service worker. This is an honest review, not just looking for trouble. Also, the sink faucet is too far back; you almost have to lean on the counter to wash your face.

This hotel truly exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hangzhou! Its location is absolutely prime, right next to Wulin Plaza, with access to Grand Hyatt and Hangzhou Tower just outside. What's even better is that it offers a quiet retreat despite being in a bustling area. You can even walk to West Lake, making it incredibly convenient for both shopping and sightseeing. The hotel's design is very stylish, themed as a 'collector's mansion.' The moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the vintage spiral staircase. The lobby is adorned with antique display cases and art pieces, blending modern sophistication with a nostalgic charm. The renovated rooms are of high quality, spacious, and decorated in warm, elegant tones. The biggest surprise for me was finding a record player in the room, complete with a thoughtful selection of classic records. Lounging on the sofa at night, flipping through a book to the warm, delicate melodies – this kind of ambiance is truly hard to find in other hotels. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, allowing even a light sleeper like me to have a wonderful night's rest. The service was equally outstanding. From the doorman proactively opening car doors and helping with luggage, to the front desk staff patiently explaining things during check-in, every detail made me feel genuinely cared for. The breakfast selection was incredibly rich, with both Chinese and Western options. I particularly recommend the freshly made Pian'er Chuan noodles and wontons – a hot bowl of these instantly kick-starts your day with energy. The pool and gym facilities on the sixth floor are also excellent; having such a resort-like feel in the heart of the city, where space is at a premium, is truly remarkable. This stay far surpassed my expectations, and it will definitely be my top choice for my next visit to Hangzhou!
