Banyan Tree Hangzhou is beautifully located with a comfortable and pleasant environment. The service is warm and thoughtful, and very personalized, especially Olive at the front desk. I'll definitely come back to stay again if I have the chance.

The room was quiet, so I slept incredibly well. Both the Western and Chinese meals for dinner and breakfast were a delightful surprise. From ingredients to preparation, everything met the brand's high standards. I'd recommend trying all three meals. Special thanks to Olive for the excellent service!

The room was nice and spacious, and the hand-rowed boat ride was enjoyable. The wetland was quiet with no other tourists, which was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, the bird-watching activity we were looking forward to was canceled due to rain, and there weren't many other free activities available. The complimentary fruit was a bit underwhelming. Other than that, the staff service was excellent.

Poor hygiene and hardly any activities. Aside from the beautiful scenery, this hotel really doesn't live up to any star rating standards.

The hotel as a whole is beautiful and quiet, and every staff member I met was very nice! Especially Olive, our butler, who was always ready to answer questions and resolve various issues promptly. The front desk, concierge, and restaurant staff were all polite, enthusiastic, and provided excellent service. During my stay, taking a tour on the hotel's sculling boat was a very pleasant experience, allowing us to avoid the crowds.

The hotel was designed with the traditional style situated at the preservation wetland and it was breathtaking. I love our suite right besides the river. The service was top notched and the breakfast was exceptional.

Environment: The environment is really superb. I booked a water villa, and the hotel upgraded me to a deluxe water villa, which had a better location and was closer to the hotel lobby. The balcony in the room overlooked the lake, and you could feed fish and ducklings from the balcony railing. There were so many koi in the hotel, some even bigger than the ducks, which was really fun. Service: Every staff member I encountered was super nice. When my child mentioned that the snacks delivered to the room were delicious, they specially sent two extra portions that afternoon. When I checked out, they even prepared some for me to take away, which was incredibly touching! Thumbs up, thumbs up! Food: The breakfast area isn't big, but it's delicious! There's a wide variety of bread, and both Chinese and Western breakfast options are very rich. Even if you go to eat after 9 am, there's no long queue; it's quiet with fewer people. We had dinner at the Baiyun Restaurant, which was also very good, costing a little over 200 yuan per person, which was quite reasonable. Facilities: The hotel is indeed not new anymore, as it has been open for a long time, but it's very well maintained. And this Chinese style just looks ancient and elegant, which I personally really like. Rowboat: Three of us took the hotel's rowboat. It was 400 yuan for an hour to charter the boat, which is indeed a bit more expensive than outside, but the advantage is no queues, no exposure to the sun, and there wasn't a second boat on the outer lake waterway, so we had a private secret retreat all to ourselves – so comfortable!

This Banyan Tree hotel is nestled within the Xixi Wetland, and the overall environment is truly exceptional. We booked a 'Clear Water' room on the second floor, and everywhere you look, there's lush greenery. Despite the rain these past couple of days, the hotel offered plenty of activities. The pool was great, and Ms. Olive provided excellent service, helping us with all sorts of issues. We'll definitely be back to stay again.

This is the fourth Banyan Tree hotel our family has stayed at. The hotel is nestled next to Xixi Wetland, not far from West Lake Scenic Area, offering a tranquil escape from the bustle. The Chinese garden design is absolutely stunning. As always, the service was impeccable; during a typhoon, they frequently provided golf cart shuttles, cleaned the room, and even filled the hot tub for us – all very thoughtful and attentive. The crayfish buffet was delicious. The room was also great, very private and soundproof. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

The bathroom floor had cigarette ash, and the overall cleanliness wasn't great. However, the facilities and environment felt good overall, as expected from Banyan Tree. Compared to other Banyan Tree locations, the service and facilities were a bit inferior. We took a traditional punt boat ride, which cost 400 yuan per hour. It was nice for taking photos of the kids, and the misty rain added a lovely江南 (Jiangnan) charm.

Although the hotel is a bit old, the hardware is generally well-maintained. However, the cleanliness needs improvement, especially on the balcony where the railings were dusty – even though it's an outdoor area, it still needs better upkeep! Inside, the diamond-patterned room divider, which was trendy back in the day, is indeed hard to clean, but I'm sure the housekeeping department will be able to handle it once they notice it ✊. The breakfast selection is limited; it's filling, but doesn't quite match the hotel's star rating. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service. From the concierge to the front desk, the restaurant staff, and even the occasional encounter with housekeeping, everyone was warm, polite, and attentive. Olive, who I contacted via WeChat, was incredibly responsive and efficient in handling any requests, even those I just casually mentioned. For someone who values service above all else, this more than made up for the shortcomings I noted earlier. 😂

The room was very spacious and clean. The TV was a bit old, but everything else was well worth the price. We arrived at the hotel at 2 AM, and the front desk staff was incredibly patient, even contacting a colleague to help us with an extra bed. The hotel staff also delivered our takeaways to the room throughout our stay. It's a highly recommended hotel for a relaxing getaway.
