Hangzhou Hua Jia Shan Resort

The hotel boasts fresh air and stunning views, surrounded by lush, mature trees and a variety of beautiful birds. The breakfast spread is generous, and the Chinese restaurant offers delicious dishes at reasonable prices. The tea room is elegantly decorated, making for a very pleasant tea experience. The service staff for our room, 3322 (apologies, I've forgotten their name), was incredibly diligent, meticulous, and thoughtful, even presenting us with a small gift – many thanks! The hotel's toiletries are from the international brand L'Occitane. Our building, Block 3, is even where German Chancellor Merkel once stayed. The nearby Yuhu Bay, once the private garden of a Southern Song Dynasty emperor, offers picture-perfect scenery at every turn. All eight of us raved about our stay and are already planning to return. This truly is a hidden gem of a hotel.

Huajia is an incredibly romantic place, nestled in the West Lake area with a massive courtyard. They offer a complimentary photoshoot within the hotel grounds, and the photographer's skill is genuinely impressive; photos taken in Huajia's courtyard turn out beautifully. The breakfast at Huajia is fantastic, with over a hundred delicious options. You can dine in the outdoor courtyard, whether it's sunny or drizzly, starting your day feeling refreshed and happy. Room service is also superb. Every time we went for breakfast, our room was meticulously cleaned. My daughter recently dyed her hair red, and she accidentally stained the bathmat during her shower, but we weren't charged for it. A hidden bonus is when you're taking a taxi back to the hotel at night and pass by Yanggong Causeway. The driver will suddenly accelerate, giving you that rollercoaster-like feeling of weightlessness about six times (search 'West Lake rollercoaster' on Xiaohongshu for more info). The only minor drawback at Huajia is the lack of a laundry room and dryer. During the plum rain season, clothes just don't dry, so make sure to pack plenty of outfits!

This was by far the most satisfying hotel on our trip to Jiangnan. We paid extra for a rollaway bed and it came with complimentary breakfast, plus a fruit plate and drinks. The housekeeping staff were proactive and incredibly attentive. The gym's facilities, including the ping-pong table, shuffleboard, and foosball, were all well-maintained and a lot of fun. Breakfast was delicious and abundant, with plenty of choices, and the freshly made wontons and noodles were particularly good. The entire resort has a tranquil and pleasant atmosphere; it would have been even better if we could have strolled through the central garden, but it was cordoned off for a wedding when we passed by.

Very quiet and incredibly relaxing in a natural setting. The Chinese restaurant was on point, and the travel photography turned out great. My family and friends were all very happy.

The hotel's environment and facilities are excellent, featuring the Yaguchiquan hot spring. The breakfast is abundant, and the Chinese restaurant's food is also worth trying. The constant chirping of birds and various fish swimming in the pond create a serene atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing 'lie flat' vacation. There are also many attractions nearby. My original plan to visit a spot on the third day was changed to exploring Ma Jia Bu and Guo Zhuang, both close to the hotel. Perhaps due to a significant temperature change during my visit, and my sensitivity to heat, I was initially dissatisfied with the hotel's handling of the room's excessive temperature on the first day. I appreciate Ctrip's customer service for intervening promptly and resolving the issue smoothly. Overall, this 'lie flat' vacation was quite satisfactory.

1️⃣ Huajia Mountain Villa is a well-established hotel by West Lake, boasting an excellent location. As a local, I stayed for a two-night city getaway and truly believe that staying by West Lake is the best way to experience it. The hotel grounds are lush with trees and offer beautiful scenery, especially charming in spring. It's within walking distance to Yuhu Bay, Su Causeway, and Prince Bay. 2️⃣ The hotel often hosts conferences and receptions, and it's also a great choice for weddings. The breakfast is particularly commendable, with dishes neatly presented and expertly prepared by the chefs. Overall, it's very refined and thoughtfully done. 3️⃣ Our rooms, 2306 and 2307, were in Building 2, Azalea Tower, with garden views. We booked two rooms for three people. The facilities are a bit dated; the TV cable in room 06 needed repair, and the hairdryer in room 07 was an old model. While I don't expect a renovation, it would be great if the hotel could invest a little effort in upgrading the equipment. I highly recommend Huajia as a wonderful place to stay when visiting West Lake. 4️⃣ [Avoid this!] The hotel's travel photography partner, photographer Xiao Jie from Xiaowan Travel Photography, provided a very unpleasant experience. Here’s why: 1) At the scheduled time and location, the photographer was unreachable and nowhere to be found. 2) As a hotel travel photographer, the goal should be to capture the hotel's unique features, justifying the hotel's partnership. However, the photographer failed to choose distinctive backdrops. 3) The most frustrating part was being constantly directed to take photos on large asphalt roads! Asphalt roads! Seriously! The final photos were all half road, and despite all the effort, not a single one was kept! Comrade Xiao Jie, do you honestly think that in such a beautiful place as Huajia, taking pictures on asphalt roads looks good???!!! The circular framing didn't even consider obstacles like nearby chairs, resulting in mediocre effects, and the pose guidance was basically just 'spin your skirt.' I was traveling with my parents, so the guidance wasn't very helpful. Following a routine is fine, but please be more dedicated. 4) After purchasing the edited photos, I provided two rounds of revision feedback, but I didn't notice any color adjustments based on my suggestions. 5) Almost none of the shots captured the main building's distinctive large roof or the garden landscape towards Dongpo Tower, which I consider the hotel's most unique features. The close-up landscape shots could have been taken in any residential compound in Hangzhou. [They failed to capture Huajia's unique character, lacked skill and guidance, and the overall process felt half-hearted!] 6) After selecting the photos, the photographer, who was busy, ran back briefly. Upon hearing that I initially didn't want to buy the edited photos, he immediately ran off, leaving my family of three stranded! He didn't even explain how the photos would be sent. Later, when I agreed to buy the edited photos, we waited for him for about an hour, which could have been avoided if he had simply communicated how to send them instead of making us wait aimlessly! 7) I've participated in at least a dozen, if not dozens, of hotel photo shoots, and this was by far the worst! And then he had the nerve to ask for good reviews and praise! I was utterly speechless! [I strongly suggest that Huajia replace this travel photography partner and find a new collaboration! It would lead to much better promotional results!]

Hangzhou Huajia Mountain Villa is an excellent choice for those who prefer a quiet version of West Lake. Its location is superb, being very close to Yuhu Bay and Taizi Bay, and within walking distance of the West Lake scenic area. The check-in service was quite thoughtful, and the room decor was lovely. The villa grounds are extensive, and a morning stroll there is delightful. The breakfast buffet offers a rich selection, including many delicious local Hangzhou specialties. Overall, the experience was really great.

I booked a king room with a balcony. It has an open-air balcony, but it can get sunny or rainy. Hangzhou has been raining a lot lately, so the room felt a bit damp. The breakfast was pretty good; you can even eat outside. The sweet fermented rice soup was especially nice. Ordering takeout around here can be a bit more expensive for delivery, but a robot brings it right to your room, which is cool. Getting taxis to attractions and such was also quite convenient.

I booked a balcony room. The room wasn't very big, making it a bit inconvenient for luggage. The balcony, however, was quite spacious. Unfortunately, the front desk assigned me a room facing a work area, and there was also a constantly humming utility room nearby, which shouldn't happen when the hotel isn't even full. Last time I stayed here, I booked an executive room and was also given a less desirable corner room. As I was leaving, someone who seemed to be the manager said I'd have a better experience next time. On the bright side, the hotel's hygiene is good, the restaurant is popular, and it's conveniently located.
