Everything was great, except for the air conditioning in West Building 3, which was a bit noisy when adjusting the temperature. The West Lake Vinegar Fish at the dinner buffet was tender and fresh, the Braised Pork Belly (Dongpo Pork) was rich but not greasy, the swimming crabs were plump and delicious, and the Arctic sweet shrimp were of excellent quality.

The epitome of luxury hotels in Hangzhou | A hidden gem in West Lake If you could only choose one place to stay in Hangzhou, it would have to be the West Lake State Guest House. Formerly known as Liu Zhuang, it's nestled along Yanggong Causeway, surrounded by the lake on three sides, and boasts its own sprawling classical gardens. It's like having West Lake all to yourself. No need to jostle with crowds on the Su Causeway or Broken Bridge; the hotel itself offers a long stretch of lakeside, perfect for enjoying lake views and watching the sunset at any time. The gardens feature ancient trees reaching for the sky, winding corridors, waterside pavilions, lotus ponds, and koi fish. Every step reveals a new picturesque scene, and you'll find almost no passersby in your photos, creating an incredibly atmospheric experience. The historical significance is palpable; walking through the gardens is both peaceful and therapeutic. The rooms are designed in an elegant Chinese style, clean and bright, with exquisite furnishings. The bedding is soft, ensuring a restful sleep, and the daily welcome fruit selection is a thoughtful touch. The service embodies the perfect 'state guest' quality – polite, discreet, and full of attention to detail. The breakfast offers a wide selection, and the Hangzhou-style snacks are delicious. The Hangzhou cuisine at Ziwei Hall is definitely worth trying. Waking up to the sound of birds in the morning, opening the window to a panorama of lakes and mountains... This stay was more than just a hotel experience; it was an immersive journey into the essence of Jiangnan and West Lake. If you're vacationing in Hangzhou, you absolutely must experience this at least once!

Overall, it's pretty good. I've stayed in many hotels, and this one is definitely up there. The environment and service are well worth the price. It's a quiet oasis in a bustling area; you don't even need to leave the hotel to enjoy West Lake and the gardens. The staff are also very polite. I hope the rooms can be upgraded with smart toilets, the breakfast selection could be a bit more varied, and it would be great to have a few more benches along the lakeshore.

No wonder it's rated the number one garden! The scenery is beautiful, and the service is meticulous and thoughtful. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, the rooms are spotlessly clean, and the environment is very comfortable. The breakfast is abundant, and the dining area is pleasant. You can even see the visitors on Su Causeway and Leifeng Pagoda from the hotel grounds.

The hotel is right by West Lake, and the grounds are so expansive that you could spend most of your time exploring them. The scenery around West Lake itself is pretty similar anyway. The service was also great; a shuttle bus would arrive with just one call, making it super convenient to get around the gardens.

This time, I stayed in Building No. 2. The hotel grounds are expansive with beautiful surroundings, perfect for an after-dinner stroll. You can see West Lake, Su Causeway, and Leifeng Pagoda. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Hangzhou, perhaps in a different season.

The hotel is nestled within the West Lake Scenic Area, boasting a unique appeal with its exceptional location and rich historical background. Our family trip truly highlighted this, and we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel's beautiful scenery, delicious food, and excellent service. A special shout-out to Ziwei Hall for thoughtfully arranging longevity noodles and a small cake for my elderly relative's birthday – a truly heartfelt gesture, highly commendable! 👍 There were a few minor issues, however. The check-in wait time on Sunday was excessively long. The facilities in Building 8 were a bit lacking, with several power outlets having poor contact. We were also plagued by mosquitoes and midges while strolling in the garden, and I suggest the hotel proactively reminds guests to take precautions upon check-in. Nevertheless, these small drawbacks don't overshadow the overall experience. I hope the hotel continues to improve and enhance its services even further.

The location of the State Guesthouse is superb, right within the West Lake scenic area. The views are amazing! They even gifted us fresh, sweet lotus pods in our room. Plus, you can pre-book dinner at the Ziwei Restaurant when you check in, which I missed out on last time I visited.

I previously stayed here mainly for the Ziwei Restaurant, so I didn't have high expectations for the room. This time, I stayed in Building 8 and found the room facilities to be quite good, newer than I remembered. The gym was also nice, perhaps it's been recently renovated. The location is excellent if you're not looking for major tourist attractions and prefer a relaxing stroll.
