Grand Hotel

This was my first trip to Hangzhou, and after reading reviews on Ctrip, I chose the Dahua Hotel – it totally exceeded my expectations! The location is incredibly convenient, right by West Lake. As a guest, you can use your room card to access West Lake directly through a small back gate. It was lovely and refreshing to take a stroll by the lake after dinner in the evening. The hotel even has its own cruise ship, departing daily at 8:30 AM. It wasn't crowded at all, making it a super easy way to tour West Lake, and the air conditioning was excellent. Families with children should definitely visit the garden behind the hotel; they have two little squirrels that are incredibly friendly. They'll jump down from the trees for food if a staff member calls their name – a must-do experience for parents with kids, as the children absolutely love it. I've stayed in many hotels, and the Dahua's service, environment, and staff are all top-notch. I'll definitely choose Dahua Hotel again on my next visit to Hangzhou!

The staff at Hangzhou Xihu Grand Hotel, including the doormen, front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant teams, all provided excellent service, leaving a deep impression on us. We stayed in Building 3, where the room decor was stylish and elegant. The bathroom area was well-designed and convenient to use, making for a pleasant stay. Its location also made exploring the West Lake area incredibly convenient. Enjoying breakfast while admiring the lake view in the morning was truly a delight. The breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious Chinese and Western options. A special highlight was taking the Grand Hotel's exclusive boat for a scenic tour around the lake – truly beautiful. We will definitely choose this hotel again for our next visit to Hangzhou.

This was our first trip to Hangzhou with our child, and we originally wanted to stay at the State Guesthouse, but due to inconvenient transportation, we chose Dahua Hotel instead. We were lucky enough to get a free room upgrade to a room with two 1.35-meter beds. We stayed in Building 3, which was renovated in 2025. The room facilities were excellent, with a full Kohler bathroom and shower setup, and premium toiletries provided. The hotel staff were all very kind, friendly, and polite. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. The only downside might be that the hotel is close to the West Lake lakeside commercial open-air bars, where singing goes on until past 11 PM. The room windows should be upgraded to triple-pane, double-glazed or more to ensure soundproofing.

The hotel boasts tasteful facilities and a rich history, with attentive service. Located right on West Lake, you can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Hangzhou's West Lake both morning and evening. They even have their own boats for guest convenience. It's definitely one of the top hotel choices when visiting Hangzhou. A romantic stroll along West Lake right from the hotel is a must.

This is my third time staying at the Grand Hyatt. The location is excellent, with direct access to Hubin Yintai from the hotel's rear. The breakfast spread is incredibly rich, and it's a real treat to enjoy a delicious meal while seated at a lakeside table. Mr. Hong at the front desk provided exceptional service; he personally escorted us to our room and thoughtfully reminded us about breakfast times and the restaurant's location, making us feel truly at home.

The room was clean, and the location is excellent, right by West Lake. Hubin Commercial Street is also very close. You can even swipe your card to exit through the back door and walk straight onto the Nine-Turn Bridge of West Lake. The staff were also very enthusiastic. A really great hotel!

Let's start with the positives. The hotel's location is excellent. You can use your room card to exit the back door directly into Xihu Tiandi, and if you're driving, there's no need to worry about traffic restrictions. The main entrance is also a short walk from a bus stop, making it convenient to visit various attractions. The complimentary boat ride was also a nice touch; the staff repeatedly emphasized safety requirements, and since it's only for hotel guests and requires reservations, the order was quite good. I forgot a piece of clothing when leaving, and the housekeeping staff immediately reported it and had it mailed to my home. Now for the downsides. We chose the Dahua Hotel because Trip.com mentioned it was newly renovated in 2025, but we didn't expect the newly renovated Building 3 to have such a strong formaldehyde smell. To make matters worse, our booked family room was only available in Building 3. The first room we checked into, at the end of the hallway on the first floor, had clearly audible singing from outside at 10:30 PM. After being in the room for 10 minutes, I started to experience a headache and eye irritation. We were later moved to Building 1, given two rooms, and one was even upgraded to a room with a partial view of West Lake. However, the smart toilet in that room had a broken self-cleaning function; it would beep every 5 minutes, then spray water to clean its pipes. We called room service in the middle of the night to take a look. They unplugged it and plugged it back in, and it seemed fine, but then it broke again a little while later. I just gave up [facepalm]. I don't understand why they wouldn't just replace it with a spare one directly instead of waiting for engineering to come fix it the next day. Also, the water pressure was very low, making showering and washing hair quite difficult. The staff's service was decent, not bad, but it lacked attention to detail. On the first night, we arrived at the hotel after 10 PM, and the female receptionist had a very indifferent and business-like demeanor. Later, due to the room changes and other issues, I got a bit annoyed, and only then did she finally start to serve with a smile. The breakfast was quite abundant. When I asked for small wontons, they gave me small wontons the first time, and they were quite tasty, so I went for another portion. Perhaps the raw wontons needed cooking, because they directly scooped out some 'rouyan' (meat swallows) from the pot for me instead. Oh well, I'll just pretend they're small wontons.

My mother and her friends stayed at your hotel from September 4th to 6th. However, on the morning of the second day after checking in, she woke up to find over a dozen suspicious insect bites on her body, accompanied by intense itching. As a consumer, choosing to stay at your hotel was based on trust in your brand's hygiene and service. Yet, after just one night at the hotel, such a severe allergic reaction or insect bites appeared, which makes me seriously question the cleanliness of your guest room's sheets, bedding, and overall environmental hygiene. Regarding the above situation, I now demand the following: 1. Immediately arrange for a specialist to conduct a thorough hygiene inspection and disinfection of the bedding, mattress, and all corners of the room. 2. Fully refund the room fee for this stay and cover the subsequent medical expenses for my mother's doctor visits and medication due to the room's hygiene issues. When my mother complained, no one came forward to address the issue. Please provide a reasonable solution. Hotel hygiene and safety are the basic bottom lines of the service industry. I hope your hotel can genuinely address the legitimate rights and interests of guests and promptly resolve this matter appropriately.

This hotel is right by West Lake. After checking in, you can use your room key to access the lakeshore from the hotel garden, which makes it incredibly convenient to stroll around West Lake. We initially booked for two nights but extended for another; if it weren't for other plans, we'd have loved to stay longer. The hotel also has its own cruise ship, and guests get one free ride upon check-in.
