We are a family of four—two Japanese children and two adults (half Japanese, half American). We’ve lived in Japan for 25 years and have stayed in many ryokan across the country. We’re happy to pay a premium if the experience is worth it, but unfortunately, this ryokan did not meet expectations. The public bath is in need of renovation, the food was very ordinary, and there were storage boxes placed around the restaurant during dinner, which took away from the atmosphere.
Staff are nice.

Stayed 2 nights on the island of Miyajima.
Typical ryokan style with tatami mats with mattress for a good nights' sleep.
View from the room was good towards the Torii gate on the beach.

I had an unforgettable night in Miyajima
It's a bit far from the ferry terminal, but you can go there after looking around the shopping district
They even sent me off in a shared car when I left
The food was great and the view was really nice
It's old, so the facilities are a bit worn out (public baths, etc.), but it was great
