The bed is so comfortable and the breakfast is delicious😋
Environmentally friendly and pastoral style,
The bathroom is clean and tidy, and bath products are provided.
The downside is that the bed can be a bit dirty.
Will consider staying again next time

An overnight stay for a relative's party. We've stayed here in the past when it was owned. Y a well k own chain and I said I'd never stay here again then. But it is vastly improved now and unrecognisable from before. Lovely room that's been thoughtfully decorated which made it feel like a home. I was poorly so didn't get to the party, but I felt very comfortable here. Even the pictures on the walls were so different from the usual generic hotel art. It was spotlessly clean, everything looked new and the bed was very comfortable. Won't hesitate to come back again.

What a lovely place! We weren’t sure what to expect but needed a stopover on our way north. Our room was quiet and very comfortable. Our evening meal was good and the breakfast this morning was ample! Service was quick and the accosted our food allergies with no fuss.

Booked the Cat & Lion for one night as a stopover on the way to the Lake District from South Wales, excellent location just off the motorway & easy to find. Plenty of parking, check in was easy at the pub & staff were friendly. Unfortunately, the rooms we were allocated had not been refurbished & very much in need of attention. We had dinner at the pub which was poor quality but the breakfast was quite acceptable & the staff were helpful & friendly. Hopefully things will improve once the refurbishment is complete.

Lovely clean spacious and airy room. Comfy bed, quiet area, despite being close to the main road.Large car park Staff very friendly , helpful and polite Good breakfast ( very filling) Evening food is also good, seating outside is nice. Will definitely come again

Stayed just the one night . Room clean ,bed comfy , nice powerfull hot shower . Had superb evening meal and lovely full English breakfast in the pub . Staff especially that we're on for breakfast , happy and friendly . Was asked if everything was ok for each meal . Would book again next BSB race . Thank you for excellent stay .

We stayed just one night as going to a birthday party locally. It was just an easy, hassle-free stay. Friendly owner. We didn't have time to use the pub or restaurant but it all looked good and reasonable prices. Our room was comfortable, well equipped and very well priced. Parking was easy and we felt safe leaving luggage in the car as we had arrived from a longer trip elsewhere. Would definitely recommend.

Room 1 was desperately in need of refurbishment. Very scruffy. Smoking station for staff directly outside. Wouldn’t stay here again unless in a refurbished room. Breakfast OK. Good location. Room serviced every two days - no facilities to dry towels meant damp towels on second day.

Room spacious but a little tired ie holes in curtains and bathroom needed a big update as things missing on wall and holes everywhere. Good shower and was very clean but didn't like half used toilet paper left that's a bit naff. Good little t.v and coffee/tea caddy. Beds really comfortable and room very quiet considering so near main road. Breakfast lovely and very generous Staff in pub lovely and had a good a**osphere and decor. Shame the rooms didn't have same feelings.
