This is the second review I have written about this absolutely wonderful place, and I could not be more pleased with my second visit in less than a year. To start with the place is very nice, clean and is everything that you would expect in a small hotel. There is a electric kettle in the room, and an offering of coffee and tea as well. The bathroom was small, but was neat and well appointed, also, there was a lot of good hot water for showering. There is a nice breakfast nook at the entrance, with Fridge and Microwave, with a good selection of fruit and breakfast bars provided. I used the nook to prepare breakfasts and dinners that I was able to buy at the CoOp just down the street from the hotel, this enabled me to buy and prepare lunches for my various hikes around the town. The bed was comfortable and the nearness of the railroad platform, made this the idea place to stay while exploring the various Roman ruins in the area. Julia, the host, was as charming as ever and made sure that the room was all that I and my wife could want. She was able to recommend places to eat in town, and places to hike to that are often overlooked by the causal traveler, believe me, there are some wonderful places around Haydon Bridge to see. I was so impressed with the hotel, and the people that surround it and make up this beautiful town that I had to bring my wife across an ocean to expierence it. She loved the hotel and the town! The hotel was quiet, restful and well cared for, and the value for your money is perfect. I do hope that I am able to return again to this delightful hotel, to me it was like coming home, and I believe you will find it is well worth a visit.
