A budget place without power during load shed
Budget hotel without backup generator equals to no electricity (light, internet, aircon, fan, etc) during load shedding. Even though the weekly showed 3 times daily with 2hours load shed but the actual hours of load shedding can stretch up to 4.5hrs... this bring much inconveniece and we have to sleep in darkness and no ventilation (dare not open sliding doors due to many mosquitoes)
One can search online for load shedding schedule and can choose to stay here if you can live without electricity and lights.
Bring power banks to charge phone and ensure phone has lots of video downloaded for entertainment, bring along torch light.
When we arrive, it happened to be during load shedding and intercom was not working.. we thought it was closed. Luckily the intercom revived shortly and the person in charge Preety opened the gate for us.
1 person manning the place - either Goodness or Preety. Very friendly and gd.
We stayed 6 nights there due to centralise location to Sabie, Kruger park ( pick up at our hotel) , Panaroma route, Wonder view, etc. 2 min drive to the shopping mall.
Frankly the only downside is the load shed, the owner of the place shd invest in back up for the guests... the entrance to the gate needs improvement.
There was daily breakfast platter included in the daily rate. No toiletries toothbrushes, shampoo, shower gel. Bedsheet not changed daily. Design of shower area is bad without shower curtain - wet area after bath.
Wld change hotel if not alr paid.
