Hippo Hollow Country Estate

Our stay at Hippo hollow was amazing with dinner n breakfast by the river and hippos in it. The location is excellent. Chef Jonathan and Amo from guest relations even helped us with Jain meals. The rooms are great and excellent value for money

Thank you to everyone at Hippo Hollow for a wonderful stay! Nothing was too much and the staff were friendly and professional. We enjoyed the food selection with plenty of vegetarian choices. The grounds and room were clean and well maintained. It was so calm and peaceful. We can't wait to return.

Stayed for 3 nights whilst visiting nearby Kruger Safari Park. The accommodation was lovely and very comfortable. The staff were excellent and the food was great plenty of choice and fresh. I would definitely recommend

This was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the scenery and the pool! After the early game drive, a lay down and a swim were amazing. The food was delicious and the staff very attentive. Would stay here again!!

What a beautiful location this wonderful hotel is in. The grounds are so pristine and attractive. The highlight for us, was seeing a hippo grazing on the riverbank, whilst we were having dinner in the restaurant. What a memory to have. The only negative is the flooring in the shower, it was horrible, all black & rubbery.

A wonderful hotel just outside the Kruger park. Stayed for 3 nights as part of an organised tour group. Comfortable room in

It's a good place to stay (location and setting). We did not see Hippos (BTW). The individual riverside cabins were nice (not great, but nice). The food was hit/miss...i liked all my dinners (3 nights), but my wife liked none of her dinners. The breakfast would be fine with low crowd (like night 1), but when the busses arrive and 1 coffee machine to service the crowd....10 minutes to get an Americano was a bit much. Their other coffee (without the wait) was not good (IMO). Note that the staff were great and friendly...and i would still recommend staying here for a reasonably priced place in the area...safe and decent food.

I recently stayed at Hippo Hollow Country Estate with my husband and we had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly welcoming and so professional. The room was spotless and very spacious. We were fortunate to have a river view which made our experience even better with a stunning view. The bed was super comfy with crisp clean linen. The location os peaceful enough to relax but still close enough to great experiences, especially the Elephant Whispers. Overall it was a lovely experience and we will gladly return. I recommend Hippo Hollow to anyone looking for a memorable stay.

We had delicious pizzas from the restaurant with a table overlooking the river. We managed to see two young hippos playing in the water, very special. Anyway back to the food, the four different pizza we ordered were delicious, they have a nice base. The cocktails our waitress recommended went down very well. It’s well worth a visit, but book to get a river side table !
