Hilton Helsinki Kalastajatorppa

We arrived at the hotel late at night. The receptionist wasn't very welcoming, as if they were upset with us for being late. They told us about a 50-euro deposit and asked for our card number. Then, my banking app showed a declined transaction for 200 euros, after which there were two attempts to charge 100 euros each. I had to go to reception to sort it out, where they told me the 50-euro deposit was for a DAY. They told me point-blank that if we'd been staying for 10 days, they would have charged us 500 euros! They were very reluctant to accept the deposit in cash. The room was large and clean. The hotel is quite dated, making it really (like really!) cold, and there's no air conditioning or heating. The radiator makes noise but doesn't provide any heat! We had to sleep in a sweater and warm pants. The room lacks basic amenities, for example: no dental kits, slippers, etc. The water in the room is not complimentary and costs 5 euros per 500-ml bottle. For 5-star Hilton hotel I was disappointed.

A very quiet location with Tram connection to the city center.. The hotel is clean and comfortable.

Overalls hotel is good meet the brand Hilton standard, room is nice, front desk is helpful. The bad thing is no self laundry & the breakfast everyday the same not much choice

A nice and clean hotel. It's close to Aalto's villa, and the city center is easily accessible by tram. However, arriving from the airport by public transportation (train and bus) was inconvenient, so I recommend taking a taxi. Besides Aalto's villa and studio, the Akseli Gallen-Kallela Museum, Didrichsen, Villa Gullenberg, and the former presidential residence of Tamminiemi are also nearby. The sauna was good, and it wasn't crowded when I visited. The staff was helpful with any questions I had.🥰
