"The accommodation was clean, and one night was more than enough time to easily get to the airport. However, the noise from the music in the evening was the only downside, making it impossible to sleep before midnight with a child."

"Room had a broken switch for mirror light and light could not be switched off. As a result we could not sleep at all. The light was illuninating the whole room. I have informed the front desk but they just said “Tommorow we will fix it” and did not offered an alternative room. Otherwise the hotel is very new, rooms are beautiful and is at the great location of the city."

Sekeria Hammam & Suites, Historic Mansion Hotel

"We stayed at Sekeria purely by default as our overnight flight to the UK had been Cancelled. Just 19 min drive from the airport we arrived at 6am after standing outside the airport for 5 and a half hours. We were met by the manager who helped with our luggage- there were ten passengers allocated to this hotel and on arrival we had fresh lemonade and cold towels - he had been waiting since the phone call at 12am! The hotel itself was beautiful- after a 7 year renovation it clearly had an amazing makeover . Our room was stunning with soft drinks in the fridge - soft fresh towels, Italian style marble throughout the toilet and separate shower. It was decorated to a very high standard with logos embroidered on the pillowcases and the crispest white sheets. I’m not sure if the breakfast we had was standard or because TUI were funding it but wow - a selection of sweet and savoury offerings across 2 platters and that was for two people it would have fed four! Hot drinks and fresh orange juice served as standard. This is a family run hotel and it was clear to see everyone gets involved including the children! The Manager went above and beyond to make us comfortable and even let us stay in the room until we were collected at 5pm . He then liaised with TUI when there was a mix up with our pick up. I can honestly say if I was ever in Heraklion again I would want to stay at the Sekeria."

"Breakfast was included which was good. Drinking beer on the balcony is also nice."

"The room was clean and tidy, the kitchen was well equipped, and there was a small supermarket in the lobby. In particular, the front desk staff was very warm and friendly, and gave us handwritten bus routes and bus stop names. The bus stop was not far from the hotel, which was very helpful for us to visit the city (the bus driver did not understand English)."

"The location is central and the friendliness of the information office is top notch. The facilities were clean and there was a separate veranda where you could wash and dry your laundry, as well as a table and two chairs. The downside is that the bathroom is so small that it's difficult to turn around, and there is the inconvenience of not being able to fit your left foot into the toilet seat."
