The service was excellent! I arrived at the hotel around 11 AM, before check-in time, planning to drop off my luggage and rush to Izu Kogen Station by train. A Japanese staff member at the hotel looked at the schedule and said I definitely wouldn't make it if I walked, as there were only 5 minutes left. He then kindly offered to drive me to the station in the hotel's small pickup truck! Their actual shuttle service doesn't start until the afternoon.
As I ran out of the hotel door, he even remembered to hand me an umbrella! It only took 2 minutes to drive to the station, and I made my train! Thank you so much!!

An amazing Izu trip experience!
We saw online that the facilities were a bit old, but we figured it was fine for just one night, especially with the unbeatable sea view – that made everything worthwhile! It's incredibly photogenic!!! I'd definitely recommend it to friends next time!

My stay experience was terrible. The room was very old, and the hygiene was also very poor; everything looked dirty. What's worse, the room door's lock was practically useless: hotel staff could open the door and enter the room on their own. At around 7 AM, I was still sleeping. After the staff knocked and I didn't answer, they just opened the door and came in. When I went out, I clearly locked the door, but the staff still opened it themselves and brought food into the room.
The Wi-Fi in the room was practically nonexistent, the signal was bad, and the facilities were extremely old.

The room was great and very spacious. There is Chinese-speaking service at the front desk, and it's very close to Atagawa Station. The front desk also offers a shuttle service (shout out to the young guy at the front desk—even though there was no scheduled afternoon shuttle, he still proactively asked if we needed a ride~). Overall, a fantastic stay experience~
Very good and kind servicing staff. Location is within walkable distance from Atagawa station. Breathtaking seaside view. An ideal location for relaxing getaway.
We had a wonderful stay at Atagawakan. The highlight was definitely the beautiful ocean view — waking up to the sound of the waves was incredibly relaxing. The traditional Japanese room was comfortable and gave us an authentic ryokan experience.
The onsen was very relaxing, and the meals were beautifully presented and delicious. The staff were warm, polite, and attentive throughout our stay. It was a peaceful escape from the busy cities and one of the most memorable stays of our Japan trip. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Izu!

Overall, it was pretty good. The room facing the sea was incredibly photogenic. Initially, I was worried about the hygiene after reading some negative reviews, but it was actually very clean and tidy, just a bit old-fashioned in terms of facilities! The staff were all very warm and helpful, and the shuttle service to/from the station was really convenient!
The service was great, and the room, though a bit dated, was cleaner than I expected. The view from the window was absolutely stunning, and the balcony was spacious and perfect for photos. Even on a cloudy day, a little color editing makes for great pictures.

The room was spacious with a great sea view. We opted to have our meals in the room, and both breakfast and dinner were delivered by staff. The presentation was exquisite, and the food was delicious. There's also a shuttle service that runs every half hour to and from the station.

The pickup service was excellent, and English communication was perfectly fine. The sea view is stunning; you can watch the sunrise right from your room 🌅. We had our meals in the room, and staff would come to set up and clear the bedding. If you're an introvert, this might feel a bit intrusive. And once they clear the bed, no more sleeping in, haha! 😂 The food was decent, a standard, simple Japanese kaiseki. Indeed, all the guests during our stay were Chinese. There's a banana and crocodile zoo nearby if you want to visit, but otherwise, there's not much else around, so the location isn't ideal.

The room is spacious and clean, and there is also an indoor hot spring on the same floor. However, we did experience a hiccup on this trip. We did not book dinner at the hotel, and the staff told us that we needed to book it a few days in advance. She suggested that we drive to nearby restaurants for dinner. After a few minutes of driving, we got stuck on a very narrow slope and waited there for several hours for police assistance. When we returned to the hotel, we were starving and tired. We asked whether any food could be provided to us at the hotel, but the staff simply said they had no food and could not help us. Of course, it was not their responsibility to provide food, but I do think they could have been more helpful.

This is a very traditional Japanese-style hot spring hotel with excellent, well-established service – they have everything you need. The front desk even has Chinese-speaking staff, so communication was a breeze. The hotel offers a morning shuttle service to Izu-Atagawa Station. I stayed for four nights and booked the half-board plan (dinner and breakfast), which was all delivered to my room – super convenient! The only minor downside was that breakfast arrived at 8 AM sharp, so as a late-riser, I got woken up every day! 😂 The hotel is a bit older, so the facilities are a little dated, but it didn't detract from the unbeatable ocean views. Every day, the room was stocked with snacks, iced water, and hot tea. During the off-season, the value for money is truly fantastic.

I was very happy with the room, it was comfortable to stay in, and the breakfast and dinner were also very rich. You can also book a private onsen (hot spring bath) for free. This is my second time in Izu, and my second time choosing Atagawakan. Highly recommended!

Stayed one night with two meals included. Didn't get to try the Ise lobster. It's close to the sea with views of the Izu Islands. The sound of the waves was very loud. They have a Chinese-speaking front desk. The facilities are a bit old, but there's a shuttle bus to the station and it's also not a long walk. Overall, it's pretty standard.

Pure magic, once in a lifetime type place right on the ocean. The walk here from the train station is majestic at night. Please note that the staff speak almost zero English so you’ll need to be creative with communication but that’s part of the fun! This is an ideal spot if you’re going to Rainbow Disco Club. 200% would stay again.
