Kibotcha - Hostel

The response and consideration of all the staff was warm. Since we were staying during the year-end and New Year holidays, we were treated to seasonal events such as Toshikoshi Soba, Osechi, and Mochi pounding. (I was a little disappointed that I couldn't choose a meal plan when making a reservation on Trip.com, and the menu was different from the other guests...) It was also a very valuable experience to learn about the earthquake in a facility that still retains the vestiges of an elementary school. The walls of the room were thin so I could hear a lot of noise from the neighboring rooms, but the view was good and the room was comfortable with air conditioning and a fan heater.

It was winter when I went there, but since it was a school building, I expected it to be cold, so in addition to heating the rooms, each room was equipped with kerosene heaters, which was perfect for keeping me warm from the cold. I'm thinking of becoming a repeat customer again.

I had to check in around 9:30pm due to a live performance, but thank you for accommodating me. (I have informed you in advance that it will be late) The room had 4 beds and was very clean. It's a little disappointing that the door is crooked and won't close unless you lift it up a little. The bath was hot but felt good.

The staff at the facility were very accommodating, and the breakfast made with local ingredients was very delicious.

thank you for helping me. I used it to participate in the Matsushima Air Base Air Festival 2023 for the first time. The accommodation is a reused former elementary school, so there are some inconveniences. (e.g. no elevator) There were bunk beds set up in what appeared to be a classroom. There is also a large public bath, so there is basically no problem as an accommodation facility. If I had to say, it would have been nice if each bed had air conditioning or a fan. When I closed the curtains, the air conditioner didn't reach into the bed and the heat was trapped, making me feel very hot. Also, since it's similar to a capsule hotel, I think an eye mask and earplugs are essential. Other than that, all the staff are friendly and the service is flexible, so I think it's good. thank you very much!
