Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon

Beautiful scenery, tasty food, and very friendly service. The hotel has a great location and the overall atmosphere is enjoyable. However, the room experience was disappointing. Although we paid for a king room, we were given two twin beds combined as a king, which made sleeping uncomfortable due to the gap and edges in the middle. The room locker did not work, and the hot water in the shower was also not working. Overall, the room condition and facilities were not up to the standard I would expect from a Cinnamon hotel.

I liked the hotel. Delicious food, a great location right by the ocean with a fantastic view, and great cocktails at the pool bar. The staff was very polite and welcoming, and I'm especially grateful for that. The only thing that slightly spoiled my stay was the noisy dehumidifier in the room. It was loud and made it difficult to relax. The room itself was a bit tired, but clean. All amenities were changed promptly. I'd recommend upgrading the dehumidifiers to more modern and quiet ones, which would further improve the hotel experience. Otherwise, it's a great option for a beach vacation.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. While the property is quite old and the décor and furnishings are noticeably dated, the room was impeccably clean. I was able to walk barefoot in the room without any discomfort, which reflects the hotel’s strong cleanliness standards. The location is one of the hotel’s highlights, situated beautifully along Hikkaduwa Beach with plenty of beach chairs and sunbeds available for guests. Breakfast and dinner were satisfactory, though not particularly outstanding. The service was very good, with warm, friendly, and attentive hospitality, which is consistent with the high standard of service generally found in Sri Lanka. The hotel was also very kind in allowing our driver to stay as well, which was a thoughtful and generous gesture. Overall, it was a pleasant beachfront stay with excellent cleanliness and service, despite the aging facilities.
