Excellent hotel for a vacation, especially during the off-season. The service is great, and the waves are minimal. The bartender, Viraj, is amazing and a true professional!

I liked the hotel. Delicious food, a great location right by the ocean with a fantastic view, and great cocktails at the pool bar. The staff was very polite and welcoming, and I'm especially grateful for that. The only thing that slightly spoiled my stay was the noisy dehumidifier in the room. It was loud and made it difficult to relax. The room itself was a bit tired, but clean. All amenities were changed promptly. I'd recommend upgrading the dehumidifiers to more modern and quiet ones, which would further improve the hotel experience. Otherwise, it's a great option for a beach vacation.

The hotel is located in the heart of Hikkaduwa, but the facilities are quite old. The air conditioning, dehumidifier, and fan were so noisy they gave me a headache. However, the beach environment and the several sea turtles near the shore made up for it! The outdoor area of the hotel had many squirrels and lizards, which the kids loved. Finally, the diving center's instructor was very professional and great. Unfortunately, the coral reef resources at this dive site are scarce, and the water visibility isn't great, so the underwater views were only average.

This is a fantastic resort-style hotel. If you love nature, I highly recommend it! You can snorkel right off the beach and see small sharks, sea turtles, and plenty of fish. I was very satisfied with everything, especially the stunning sunsets from our room's balcony. The dining options are all international. There are about four restaurants: a buffet, a poolside bar, an Italian restaurant, and another bar. The breakfast buffet offers a wide and delicious variety of international dishes. The cleanliness is excellent, and the service is incredibly thoughtful. The front desk staff even remembered our names! After staying for three nights, they still recognized us at check-out. We didn't want to leave and will definitely be back!

We stayed at this hotel for one night. While the property is quite old and the décor and furnishings are noticeably dated, the room was impeccably clean. I was able to walk barefoot in the room without any discomfort, which reflects the hotel’s strong cleanliness standards. The location is one of the hotel’s highlights, situated beautifully along Hikkaduwa Beach with plenty of beach chairs and sunbeds available for guests. Breakfast and dinner were satisfactory, though not particularly outstanding. The service was very good, with warm, friendly, and attentive hospitality, which is consistent with the high standard of service generally found in Sri Lanka. The hotel was also very kind in allowing our driver to stay as well, which was a thoughtful and generous gesture. Overall, it was a pleasant beachfront stay with excellent cleanliness and service, despite the aging facilities.

On the way from Mangrove to Hikkaduwa, we encountered another downpour [facepalm]... Oh well, no chance to see the sea turtles again [sweat]. We just headed straight to the hotel and hunkered down. I'm not sure if it was because we were close to the sea or due to the heavy rain, but the hotel room was incredibly damp. Even with a dehumidifier running, it didn't make much of a difference...

The beach is beautiful and it's very easy to spot sea turtles. The facilities are a bit old but the staff are nice.

The room was a bit damp and the facilities were just average, but everything else was great.

The place is in a great position and you can swim with turtles every evening off the beach. Pool and grounds are good. The rooms are fine as well. The hotel is a bit tired/ run down on outside and buffet food is a bit average. Hikkaduwa and this hotel has large amount of Russian tourists.

Although this hotel is a bit old, the environment is first-class and very comfortable!

Really enjoyed my stay at Hikka Tranz. I had full board and the food had plenty of options and was very good. Cocktails at the beach bar were affordable and really tasty. I would not recommend ordering food there though, it was expensive and not nice. The gym does not have air conditioning, but overall a great place to relax.
