FFuzheningThe hotel boasts an excellent location right next to West Lake, close to West Lake Tiandi and Hubin Pedestrian Street, making dining incredibly convenient. You can easily walk to these areas and even enjoy the beautiful night views of West Lake along the way. If you prefer not to venture out, takeout is readily available, with all the popular bubble tea and fast-food options delivering. Despite being in a scenic area, it's remarkably quiet at night, with absolutely no noise issues.
Transportation is also quite convenient. Driving is ideal, as the hotel reserves parking spaces. For public transport, there are numerous bus routes nearby. The closest metro stations are Longxiangqiao and Ding'an Road (though I wouldn't recommend these if you have luggage, as the underground passages at the intersection are very confusing and lack elevators). If you're taking a taxi, you'll need to go to the other side of the road (parking is prohibited on the West Lake side). Just set your GPS to No. 222 Nanshan Road, which is the residential complex opposite.
_The hotel itself is stunning, boasting a民國-era (Republic of China) charm combined with high comfort levels; my friends absolutely loved it. Whenever we entered or exited, there were always staff members at the front desk, and every one of them was incredibly welcoming. There's keycard access for entry and exit, and the rooms have security chains, which made me feel very safe, especially as a solo female traveler. The curving staircase in the middle is beautiful and would be fantastic for travel photography._
_We experienced the Dàhuá boat tour on the second morning (there seem to be two trips at 8:30 AM and 9:40 AM). Since it was a weekday, it wasn't crowded, which was a pleasant experience, even though you can't disembark onto the islands._
_I highly recommend the Zhongzhengju room type we stayed in, especially for its two terraces. The round one is covered, so you can sit at the table on a rainy day, listening to birdsong and watching cats dart through the trees, while chatting with friends in the misty rain. Occasionally, a fearless bird would even land on the lounge chair next to you, perfect for a quick photo op. The other, square terrace is completely open and offers direct views of West Lake (though partially obscured by trees). It's a wonderful spot to soak up the sun on a clear day. If you're traveling with family, especially seniors, they would likely adore it; they could even practice Tai Chi on the terrace first thing in the morning._
_Overall, it was a truly worthwhile experience, and I'm very grateful to all the staff members. I'd love to explore a different room type on my next visit._
