Maliba Mountain Lodge

It is truly a stunning facility and location. We had Mountain Chalet 6 which was lovely and felt very isolated despite having easy access to the Lodge. Although we had a lot of on and off rain, each morning we enjoyed our coffee either under the covered patio or the open deck soaking in the incredible views of the valley and mountains. The meals were all delicious and we enjoyed coming back after dinner to a fire that had been started for us. What makes Maliba special however is the incredible group of friendly people who worked exceptionally hard to take care of us. Alice was always around to ask how we were doing, if we needed anything and to look after details like the fire or realizing how much we would enjoy our last breakfast outside when the sun finally peaked out. Malcomb and Hunter were always smiling faces when we dined and provided great conversation. From the Spa team to everyone else at Malaba we could not have felt more welcomed or pampered. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to take full advantage of the outdoor activities, but the team made sure we had an extremely relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The Lodge was cozy, quiet, the staff friendly and accomodating. We arrived to warm rooms fireplace lit and fully stocked with firewood to last through the night in case the floor heating and electric blankets and extra blankets didn’t beat the chill. The next morning woke up to breathtaking views and the serene rush of the river below our huts. Enjoyed a rare peaceful early morning cup of coffee in solitude before joining our group for a delicious breakfast!

Truly gorgeous setting, and while strenuous, the hikes were great! The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly, and if you have time for a massage, I highly recommend it!

Staff are friendly but also make a plan when you request things. We stayed in the luxury accommodation which is highly recommended but there is a range of appropriately priced accommodation to suit budgets. We preferred the breakfast menu to the buffet. Mountain surroundings gorgous. Also loved the donkeys and ponies

Stayed in Maliba Lodge which can cater for at least 8 people in 4 bedrooms. View outside the balcony is quite spectacular (we were at #3) and the standard of service is on par with most 5 star resorts around the world. Activities to do like horse/ass rides, mountain trekking or dinosaur imprints. Natural pools, visit Afriski (ski resort). Food is excellent as well.

Beautiful scenery and location. It was such a pity that the food was terrible. It was so bad that we decided to check out early. We did try to complain to management so they could try to rectify the problem but unfortunately it seems they did not.

Nice place for vacation out of town life, ideal for group tours. Hiking trails also available to cater for short hikes and day long hiking trips. Massage plour readily available. Natural pools for cooling off the heat during hikes. Horse rides for pony trekking lovers

I did not stay overnight. This place has great coffee and a beautiful view from its terrace. The staff is super friendly. They helped me out with a map and a couple of hiking suggestions. Even so I did not stay there, I was allowed to use their WiFi and was welcomed in there restaurant and bar. The place looked great. I booked a massage in there spa and that was also very nice and relaxing. Only the 2km walk up the mountain from the gate was a bit annoying, but that is what we call mountains; right? Do not forget those 2 km when you use their maps for hiking, you have to walk them there and back if you don't stay with them.
