Cochin Zen Hotel

I loved the hotel breakfast; it was different every day. I had originally booked a large room with two single beds, but the air conditioning wasn't working properly (neither hot nor cold), so I couldn't sleep. I ended up switching to a different large room. The location is super convenient, with a massage parlor right next door and plenty of food, drinks, and entertainment all on the same street.

The soundproofing is really terrible. We could clearly hear everything from the room next door – people showering, flushing the toilet, and even scrolling on their phones. We barely slept a wink all night. Even worse, the hotel facilities are very outdated. The showerhead is inside the bathtub, and the shampoo dispenser is glued to a board. While I was showering, the glue at the bottom of the ceramic shampoo bottle came undone, and it fell into the tub, nearly hitting my foot. We stayed at three hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, and this one had the worst front desk service, especially from a Vietnamese female manager. The breakfast was also the worst. For 450 (currency not specified), I wasn't expecting luxury, but it felt as basic as staying in a hostel. Chinese travelers, seriously avoid this place. There are many other hotels in the same area to choose from; you really need to steer clear of this one. If it weren't so bad, I wouldn't have written such a long review, but I want to warn my fellow travelers to avoid this hotel!!!

Overall, the hotel is great. It's clean and tidy, and the breakfast is fantastic. I'd definitely choose to stay here again if I visit Ho Chi Minh City in the future. The location is excellent, and the staff are very polite. It has a very zen-like atmosphere.
