Hotels in Le Thanh Ton, Ho Chi Minh City

Roseland Sweet Hotel is a value for money hotel; and there would be many other similar hotels easily found online. But what made Roseland stand out was one of their staff Kiet Anh, who is a bellboy, front desk, concierge all rolled into one. The week I was there, he was working everyday and all hours, I practically see him all the time whenever i'm at the lobby, whether I am going out or coming back. His bright, cheerful and friendly demeanour plus his very personal touch is on par with the service found only at the 5 or 6 star hotels. He was what made the difference for me staying at Roseland; which otherwise would be a good but pretty average hotel. Roseland is indeed very fortunate to have employed a staff like him; and given time and the right grooming would make an excellent management personnel in the hospitality industry. My choice of hotel will still be Roseland for my next coming trip, but only if Kiet is there. Thank you Kiet, for making my stay so pleasant and memorable; and thanks for helping me send my cracked handphone for repair; you really saved my life!! See you soon!

Very convenient hotel, close to the local hotspots, very friendly personnel and good breakfast. At lower floor the noise from the nearby traffic is a bit too loud, but fortunately the hotel gave us another room directly at the 15th floor, which was much better. Nice rooftop swimming pool, I'd go back to this place for sure.

After two nights in the Roseland Corp Hotel I just don’t know where to start describing this horrible experience as everything - the service, the rooms, the prices - was just so, so bad. So I just start at the beginning: We arrived on a Thursday. Arranging a pick-up from the airport was surprisingly complicated, it took several mails with the service manager for no reason but in the end there was a quite unfriendly driver waiting for us at the gate. They charged us 750.000 Dong which is way above the common taxi-rate (150.000 Dong). When we arrived at the hotel they charged my credit card for the room - twice. As the woman at the front desk didn’t understand English that well, it was quite complicated to convince her of her mistake and get the money back. The Roseland Corp hotel has an impressive entrance area. It’s nice, really. But unfortunately this doesn’t translate to the rooms. They are terrible, probably furnished in the 80s and not renewed since. They have whirlpool bathtubs made of plastic, lots of wood in the room, curtains that haven’t been washed for ages, and you can hear everything that is going on outside of your room. The first room we got smelled like cold cigarette smoke. I complained and they upgraded us to a bigger room (after we looked at a series of rooms, one of them still in use by a paying guest). But even the upgraded room was by far worse then everything we have seen in Vietnam. I wanted to cancel the whole reservation but they wouldn’t let us go. Instead they promised us the best room of the hotel the next day and we stayed. The first night was terrible. The bed had a very, very old and thus noisy spring mattress. The slightest movement made a noise. The walls and curtains had stains all over it. There’s no constant hot water, I had a cold shower in the morning. Shower and toilet happened to make weird unexpected noises. The best room in the hotel was basically the same as before but with a better view and a less noisy mattress. At this point I was ready to drink on that but unfortunately all the mini bar contained was two bottles of water. Breakfast was…well, let’s not talk about it. All of this would have been okay somehow if this hotel wasn’t so pricey. It’s like paying for a filet mignon and getting McDonalds Cheesburger. When we checked out the woman at the front desk (the same who messed up the payment) kindly asked us to sit and wait in the entrance area so she can check if everything is okay. We waited five, ten, fifteen minutes and nothing happened. When we asked her if everything was okay, she was surprised to see that we are still there. Yes, everything okay, she said. I can’t say the same. P.S.: Neil, the doorman, was the only exception to this experience. You are great, man! Please find a new employer.

New hotel a bit on the outdkirt of district one with good and spacious room. 15 minute walk from Ben Thanh market, 30 minutes to Bui Vien Street. Fully stocked minibar with reasonable prices. Comfortable bed, safe and I great shower. Be careful when use the toilet. The ”washer” is a bit tricky to use😆. It's rated 4 star on booking, but are in reality a 3 star according to staff. The one thing and reason I dont give a 5 is the noise. The fan in the bathroom can't be turned off and is loud. The building itself has also an annoying ”humming” from what I presume is AC and other electrical installations. There are also a lot of construction work around the hotel. Had to use noise cancelling headphones to have some sleep actually 😆. The staff said that only they can turn off fan, but then for the whole floor. Beside the noise I have nothing negative to say about the hotel. Great and helpful staff, friendly doormen/security and great breakfast on the 11. floor.

We stayed 3 nights in Roseland Centa hotel. Beautiful and comfortable rooms, extensive breakfast buffet, good location. The greatest brightness of this hotel is the reception staff. They shall do everything in their power to make the stay as pleasant as possible. For example, Long advised us to go to look at the firework from the roof of Roseland Sweet Hotel and reserved a VIP table, we asked 2 additional heads and were brought in an eye-spot, ... Stayed here for NY countdown. The location is central, at the District 1 ”Japanese Street”. Bustling and convenient area. When not enjoying their nice breakfast, there are plenty of eateries nearby. The rooftop bar and pool was good for viewing new year fireworks too. However, a few setbacks deducted quite a few points. 1) faulty elevator at times (had to take the stairs sometimes, and be careful at the stairs as its ceiling is really low, my friend hit his head once) 2) hammering and drilling in nearby room or building at early hours (good thing is they let you switch room when dissatisfied) 3) first room had a weird smell (older room with Jacuzzi tub). The final room we got smelled nice (newer room with standard bathtub), but TV remote control and bathtub stopper were missing, had to ask for it 4) the final flaw that made my female friends very uncomfortable, was the clientele - many middle-aged men sitting or waiting around lobby area, ogling girls who walked by. Sometimes it's a group of men, sometimes they're paired with a local lady. Other things to note: - upon check-in, they will request to keep your passport throughout your stay. We were not going to do that, so we gave them VND500000 as deposit (which you'll get back when you check out) - the toilet and shower/bath area are separate, however the walls and doors were made of frosted glass, rather see-through, might be awkward for some if you're not a couple

I arrived at dawn on a backpacking trip and stayed in a 4-person dormitory room to sleep for a while until the morning. The accommodation itself was very nice and I was very satisfied. Compared to bunk bed dormitories, the bed was hotel-style, so it was comfortable, and the curtains were good, so personal privacy wasn't bad. A bit like a Japanese capsule hotel? However, there was a feeling that the storage space was a bit lacking around the bed except for the large locker. Also, the thing that came to be lacking the most was that hot water did not come out. I thought it wouldn't come out because it was dawn, so I washed it and waited for the next day, but it didn't come out the next day either, so I took a cold shower. However, it was not completely cold water because it was Southeast Asia, but it was cold enough to take a shower. Anyway, it is positively evaluated for being able to check in early in the morning.

Deluxe Doubleを予約しましたが、最初にSuperior（no-window）の部屋を案内されました。そこで、窓のあるDeluxe Doubleで予約したはずだと言ったら、Superior（no-window）に小さい窓がついた部屋（広さはSuperiorと同じ）になりました。予約するとき、Deluxe Doubleはもっと大きな窓で浴槽もあったと思うのですが。私の部屋はSuperiorと同じく浴槽が無く、写真のように小さい窓があっただけ。予約サイトのDeluxe Doubleの写真は、Premier Deluxe Doubleの写真を使っている？それとも間違った部屋に案内された？まあフロントがいいかげんなのは海外あるあるなので、次も同じ部屋を予約して確認してみます。 I reserved 1 Deluxe Double Room.But, at first the reception took me to a Superior Double Room（no-window）. Then I told him I reserved 1 Deluxe Double Room had the window, and next he took me to the room like the photo I uploaded. Is this room on this photo actually the Deluxe Double Room? I thought that this room I stayed is different from the photoes on booking sites. I would like to check it out on my next visit.

I booked Spring House for 2 nights mainly based on the reviews on this site and the Lonely Planet travel guide which said it was a good location and value for money. I contacted the hotel via e-mail, and I'm glad they responded quickly and enthusiastically. The hotel had already arranged for a car to pick us up at the Ho Chi Minh City airport (at an additional cost), but it took us an extra 15 minutes to find their receptionist, which was disappointing. He was sitting far away from the passenger exit, with the pick-up sign on his lap. I didn't see him all the time, and finally found him when I was about to take a taxi in desperation. We stayed in a first level room, the room was clean and comfortable, a decent size with a large window with a great view of the city, but that's about it. Its location is the most commendable, the hotel is adjacent to all the high-end shopping areas and malls, and it is only a few steps away from famous attractions such as the President's Palace and the Red Church. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and while it's not a feast, it's plentiful and tasty. There are several computers available for guests to use. The service at the front desk was friendly, welcoming and efficient. The rest of the staff were also very friendly and helpful, very considerate of my elderly father. There is a very steep staircase at the entrance of the hotel. Every time we went up and down the stairs, someone would immediately come up to help my dad. They are very thoughtful in this regard. I'm so glad I chose this hotel, it's a great value for money compared to the sky-high prices of other hotels. While the setting wasn't great, it was just what we needed - clean and comfortable, and a great location!! However, my impression of the hotel has gotten better and better after this.

Clean. Sophisticated. Reasonable. Located in Japan Town Saigon. Japanese technology, Scandinavian aesthetics. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! 💯 I booked for a week with a different hostel only to find out when I arrived that apparently it was cancelled and I have no idea why. So at 3am, I'm scrolling Agoda for a place to stay. This branch allows 24-hours check-in and has available room at that time. So thankful they took me in even though the night attendant pointed out that my passport and Agoda account didn't match. I excluded my second name when I created my Agoda account. So I had to show him my account in my phone and the notifications I received for the booking. Thanks GrandmaLu! ❤️
