Hoi An Corn Riverside Villa

We arrived at the Villas after 9pm with 4 young children and 4 adults. Immediately we noticed a number of safety hazards for children and many unkept areas of the property. We were tired so were eager to get into the rooms. The rooms were very dated and looked different from the photos. With young children it was not suitable. The villa is also in a very remote and quiet area of town. We scrambled to book a place for the night and found a more appropriate hotel for our young families. We asked the owners if we could cancel our booking due to safety issues and the fact that the pictures did not accurately reflect the hotel. We offered to pay for the first night even though we didn’t stay and requested a refund for the remaining nights. The hotel declined and charged us for the full stay. We have asked Trip.com to investigate this property further to ensure the photos are updated to realisticly reflect the rooms and exterior of the hotel.

Lovely quiet location on river . Small boutique hotel. Close to memories show which we enjoyed. Moon was very helpful with suggestions for activities and restaurants. Very well priced. The first thing we noticed upon arrival is that the pictures DO NOT look like the ones advertised on all booking sites. The pictures make Corn Villa look new, clean, and somewhere you would want to spend some time at. In actuality, Corn Villa is old, dirty, and falling apart. There is a huge garbage pile (pvc pipes, wood, etc) and a big dirty rooster cage on the other side of a small concrete wall next to the pool. There are five or six roosters that crow ALL THE TIME, morning and night. I had to sleep with ear plugs to try to muffle the sound of the roosters, and even then I didn't get a good night's sleep. When we arrived, Moon (the manager/owner), sat us down and let us know that we should buy tours/tickets through her (side hustle?). After a long travel day, all we wanted to do was get to our room, change our clothes and get something to eat. She could have easily said that she can help with tours and tickets, we didnt need to watch videos of attractions. The room we booked wasn't available, even tho it showed available on the booking site, so it was a pain to unpack and pack up the next day. This happened to another couple while we were there so I'm wondering if double booking is a normal procedure at Corn Villa. As for the room itself. There are no robes, no safe, no clothes drying rack, no iron and no kettles. I asked for an iron and a kettle and Moon did supply those. We asked about the safe, and were told that no one uses them and the one in our second room wasn't functional. Once we got to the room we paid for the next afternoon, more problems occurred. We were missing a 2 ft by 2 ft ceiling tile in the bathroom, one of the outlets next to the bed didn't work, one of the reading lights above the bed wasnt working, the stairwell lights and room outside light didn't work which made it difficult to find the key hole in the door (thank God for phone flashlights), A/C remote was temperamental (mostly not working), and the tv remote (in both rooms) needed batteries replaced. The valve in the shower, to change from rain head to wand, was broken completely off. We talked to Moon about this and she was fully aware but yet, it's still broken and not replaced. The beds are very hard. The woven lounge beds around the pool are in need of replacing. The umbrellas that you see in the booking listing do not exist. Well the frame of the umbrellas are there but, there is no material on them. The breakfast is OK, and the ladies who work during breakfast are very sweet. You do not get free refills of coffee or juice....anything extra is $30,000 VND. You do not get complimentary water bottles like you do in most hotels. Bike rentals are $50,000 VND, and we watched a couple come back to the Villa twice to get something fixed on their bike before finally heading out. The location is just OK. There isn't much around you, and it's a 1.5 kms walk to the action. Walking home down a dark path along the river wouldn't be ideal fo

The property manager, Moon, was excetional. She was very attentive, friendly and gave us accurate advice on local providers. We enjoyed the riverside breakfasts, the pool was clean and refreshing. Our room was spacious and bathroom shower had good pressure, aircon worked well. For the price we paid it was great value for money.

We are so lucky to have chosen Corn Villa as our lodgings for the one month we were to spend in HoiAn. This hotel is conveniently located on the river road a pleasant 20 minute walk into the OLD TOWN yet far enough from the hustle and bustle of traffic and tourists. It is situated in Real Vietnam with dozens of excellent restaurants nearby and the best salt coffee in HoiAn at Hana’s Coffee. As you walk the roads there are home gardens, children playing, ducks, chickens and boats festooned with lanterns. But that is not what makes this place special. It is Ms. Moon and her staff that make staying here so wonderful. They truly care about their guests and their comfort. The breakfast menu may be limited but it is prepared individually and it is delicious. Moon will book anything you need, be it cooking lessons or flights, she knows the hospitality business very well and all of her suggestions are stellar. The rooms are clean, well equipped and comfortable. I would rather stay in this friendly family run business than many other big hotels. You cannot go wrong if you are visiting Vietnam for the culture it has to offer.

i book few month before come for my holiday, when i reach and knowing that hotel fully booked already. that lady recommend her friend villa to me. just spoiled my mood, her friend villa is ok but water heater no function at all, even Hoi An weater is super hot, but when u shower at morning and midnight, u know how to feel it. never and again book this hotel
