Daocheng County Homestays

This might be the most unforgettable stay I've had all year, and it's definitely a place I'd want to come back to every year. In a nutshell: if you're visiting Yading, stay here! (I only remembered to take photos after I'd checked out.) First, the location is excellent, and I slept wonderfully. When visiting Yading, you typically choose between Shangri-La Town or Yading Village. However, the town is too noisy and commercialized, while Yading Village is too high up and requires taking a scenic bus with your luggage. This place is just a ten-minute drive from the town but nestled in the mountains at a lower elevation, so I slept incredibly well! Second, the hospitality and cultural charm from the ******* family are truly exceptional! It felt like staying in the beautiful home of a ******* family as a guest. This is a multi-generational household, and it’s been years since I've experienced a true homestay like this. The host, young Mr. Luorong, is warm and welcoming, and he personally designed the house with great taste. Grandpa Danzeng would come out to greet us every evening when we parked, chatting with us, telling us about his family, and offering us plums from their yard. There's also Coke, a playful golden retriever who loves attention... It truly feels like a hidden paradise, like making new ******* friends. I wish the Yangmai family all the best!

The guesthouse I booked on Ctrip was fantastic! The navigation on Gaode Maps was very accurate. The guesthouse had a charming ******* feel, was very comfortable, and the service was warm and welcoming. The rooms and facilities were excellent. Upon arrival, we were given a welcome khata (traditional ******* scarf), butter tea, and tsampa. We could also enjoy our own homegrown fruit. The area is surrounded by ******* houses, and free-roaming cows and pigs roam around. There were also adorable deer in the guesthouse that were very affectionate. Parking was convenient in the yard. The food was delicious and inexpensive, offering excellent value for money. The guesthouse and garden were beautiful; it's truly a hidden gem! Pet-friendly, highly recommended!

Personally, I think the CP value is very high 😬, you can see the beautiful scenery, and the bed is super comfortable. As long as you don’t care about bathing, you will really feel grateful to live here 😬. At night, because there is not much light pollution, you can see the Big Dipper from the window of the room. The next day, there are buses distributed at 7:30 in the scenic area, so you can go early to buy battery tickets. If you have no weight problem, you can also buy horse racing tickets, which is very convenient. Climbing to Five Color Lake may have exceeded the physical limit. My husband developed hyperresponsiveness and checked out one day early. The boss may have thought that we were not satisfied with the accommodation, so he quickly came to the room to see us. He learned that it was because we were feeling uncomfortable, and he enthusiastically helped us. We contacted the passenger bus down the mountain and helped us carry our luggage. If we have another chance to go there next time, we will still choose this hotel. A little further down the road from this hotel is a store. If you need hiking poles, you can buy them here, as well as gloves and snacks. Overall, it's a good experience.

The room offered a stunning view of the snow-capped mountains, and the wooden decor created a really cozy atmosphere. Amenities like oxygen supply and floor heating were excellent. The front desk staff, especially one young man, was patient and enthusiastic, providing great service. The special ******* family visit program was a pleasant surprise; the ******* uncle was incredibly welcoming and offered delicious and unique local specialties like barley cakes, yak butter tea, tsampa, and highland barley wine. The restaurant food was decent, but the yak butter chili was incredibly fragrant. It's super convenient that you can call the hotel front desk to order food in advance when you're out and about.

The facilities are new, and the view is exactly as pictured. The underfloor heating and electric blanket kept us very warm, almost to the point of sweating! 😀 It was incredibly quiet, with only the occasional sound of bells from cows and sheep passing by, which added a wonderful, rustic charm to the atmosphere.

📍 Excellent Location: The hotel is located near the Daocheng Yading Visitor Center, with convenient transportation. You can easily hail a taxi right outside, or ask the receptionist to help you book one. The rooms are clean and tidy, with comfortable bedding. 💁 Attentive Service: The front desk staff are friendly and professional, with quick check-in; room service is prompt and meticulous. Special thanks to the two ladies at the front desk for their help [and for their patient explanations of nearby travel tips]. 🍽️ Dining Recommendation: Since it was my first time here and I was unfamiliar with the area, I asked the receptionist for recommendations. The local specialty ******* cuisine (Sangjilin New Style ******* Restaurant)/freshly made food stalls were amazing! 🌟 Overall Impression: Excellent value for money! I will definitely choose this place again next time I visit Daocheng Yading! Highly recommended for travelers who appreciate quality!

The location of the HomeStay is excellent. It is located at the end of the street of a quieter corner away from the busy street. Just a short walk you will have access to many eateries and shops. The interior decoration is uniquely furnished with ******* style design transporting us into a real local ******* family home without the need to be physically in Tibet. The Owner of the HomeStay is very friendly and helpful. He introduced us to ******* culture and explained the significance of Animals painting on the wall and how it translates into daily life. Animals consisted of Elephant, Monkey, Rabbit and Bird. He also made us their fragrance 酥油茶 suyou cha which is good to counter Altitude sickness 高反。 Cat is also a sacred animal in ******* culture. The price of the HomeStay is very reasonable with the excellent location and service. It has free laundry service, however you need to hang them dry in an outdoor clothes line. It will dry quickly as the weather is very dry/sunny. I would highly recommend this HomeStay to everyone who likes to go to Daocheng Yading. Lastly, I would like to thank the Owner and his Sister for making our stay an enjoyable one. Best wishes to Owner and his Sister with excellent business ahead.

Service: The owners were incredibly welcoming! They invited us into their living room upon arrival and gave us lots of local specialties to try (ദ്ദി˶˃ ᵕ ˂ ）✧ Cleanliness: The guesthouse seemed newly renovated; the facilities were very new, and the blankets were slightly fleece-lined, which was nice and warm at high altitudes. Environment: The surrounding area was very quiet; being in a residential area, we weren't disturbed by noise. We originally planned to stay only one night, but the owners' hospitality and the locals' simplicity and kindness touched us so much that we extended our stay for another night. It was such a comfortable stay! We even visited the famous Yading Scenic Area, which was beautiful. Yangda Guesthouse is definitely worth it!!!

Traveling alone, I found this place to be very budget-friendly, saving me a lot compared to staying in a standard room for 400-500 yuan by myself. In the dorm, I met fellow outdoor hiking enthusiasts, and we had great conversations. The service here is excellent; the front desk offers free luggage storage and provides mountain essentials like oxygen tanks, jackets, raincoats, and trekking poles. The owner is also very enthusiastic about sharing travel tips for the scenic area. Highly recommended!

The B&B is right next to the scenic spot. It is very convenient to get to the ticket gate in 10 minutes. The proprietress is very welcoming and provides free raincoats and hiking poles. The room facilities are 🉑️ and hygienic and clean. There is a free parking lot at the door of the room, and it is very convenient to eat. It is a very cost-effective B&B.
