Dongguan Homestays

A very nice & clean hotel inside XiXi Ancient Village, friendly and considerate owner & staffs. Booked ground floor room but switched to upstairs. Please be reminded that rooms at ground floor are kinda noisy as they are people walking at the alley, which is just right next to the rooms. A deposit is required, which refunded at around 1pm of check out day with no hassle. Comments on XiXi Ancient Village, what a let down !! If you are looking for a fully commercial ”ancient village”, it is meant for you then.

A place with a pretty good value for money! I booked this place by chance for a class reunion. The food in the restaurant is very good. There is a park next to it and the environment is nice. The rooms are large, with a variety of room types. The price is not expensive. You can also have a barbecue. My classmates rated it very highly. It is a place worth recommending. The only regret is that the central air conditioner turned on the heating and could not turn on the air conditioning. Even in Dongguan winter mode of 25 degrees, it was still very hot at night.

The room is very clean and the location is easy to find. It is also in the city center. The room configuration is very good. The smart projector is also good. I will come again next time

The place was very clean, especially the towels. I really liked the layout; the view from the window was very pleasant, and personally, I loved the bed by the window—it felt very safe and comfortable. The environment was also great on weekends, perfect for jogging. The service was excellent, and there was free parking.

It may also be because the price is relatively high near Shenzhen, so the same price feels not as good as the ones that lived before.

It was very comfortable. A few minutes walk from the high-speed rail station from Shenzhen, there are restaurants and supermarkets around, and there is also a convenient night market. If you want to go about 40 kilometers from Hong Kong, which is more expensive than Japan, and is about the same price as Southeast Asia (below), you can also go to Shenzhen and Hong Kong for a day trip. There is a toilet, shower and fan in the room, so you don't have to use a joint toilet with valuables.

The hostel is run by an old couple. They are very nice people. Knowing I had a heavy big suitcase, they gave me a room on the 2nd floor. Although it is not perfect, it has almost everything you want. You get a single room in less than CNY 40. It is in the centre of Dongguan city. The pictures are exactly as they advertised. Very trustworthy. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, pharmacies, clothes stores and a supermarket nearby. It is a 10 minute walk away to the nearest Dongcheng metro and Walmart. A good choice if you are on a short or business trip in Dongguan. FYI: Dongguan is not a tourist city. Some locals may not understand English, so it is best if you ask trip.com to contact the hostel before your arrival.

I liked this place. The front desk was very help and boss too. They checked me in no problem and I got some water and they answered my questions. The room was basic and had all the necessities, good tv, cold aircon and a workable bathroom. Lines and beds were comfy and they even included room service which was welcoming. Few minutes walk to the opium musuems and the main plaza. The price was right!
