A hidden gem of a guesthouse within Zhangjiajie Country Garden Resort, my stay here far exceeded expectations!!! The guesthouse is situated on high ground with expansive views, offering continuous vistas of Zhangjiajie's verdant mountains right outside the window. Waking up to birdsong and the fresh scent of grass and trees in the morning was incredibly healing, truly embracing the tranquility of nature. Each room is incredibly well-designed; from the soft furnishings and color schemes to the selection of tableware, photography, and art pieces, the owner's artistic flair and thoughtful attention to detail are evident everywhere. Breakfast is plentiful and can be arranged with the butler a day in advance. You can fully immerse yourself in the mountain scenery right from your room, creating an incredibly relaxing holiday atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Strategic Location for a Relaxed, Crowd-Free Zhangjiajie Experience** We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at this hotel, which proved to be an ideal base for exploring the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. As travelers who speak a limited amount of Mandarin and prefer a measured pace, we found the experience both rewarding and stress-free. **Key Advantages & Location** The hotel’s primary strength is its proximity to the park’s less-frequented entrance. Being situated already ”inside” the park boundary with the ropeway just a 5 to 10-minute walk away is a significant functional advantage. Since the ropeway opens at 8:00 AM, we were able to enjoy a restful morning while still reaching the walking routes well ahead of the mid-day peak. By commencing our routes from the western side, we effectively moved ”against the crowd.” During our two-and-a-half-day visit, our average wait time for park shuttle buses, ropeways or elevators was approximately 5 minutes. Remarkably, both times we used the Bailong Elevator, we arrived at the gate ”first in line” and shared the cabin with fewer than six people. This efficiency allowed us to explore the park extensively—nearly ”looping” the park twice in a single day—without ever feeling rushed. I originally thought these logistical benefits were due to my decisions, however in hindsight, the location of the hotel was more likely the reason for this outcome. **Service and Hospitality** Our host, Kelly, was instrumental in the success of our trip. By communicating our plans early, she was able to facilitate the arrangement of park tickets, transfers, and provides some route suggestions based on her experience. Beyond logistics, we greatly appreciated her willingness to also share some cultural insights, such as the history and pop culture surrounding Wulong Zhai, which added a meaningful dimension to our visit. **Room and Facilities** We stayed in the main wing, located above the entrance and dining area. The room features met our specific needs perfectly. We noted that an elevator was in the process of being installed, which will be a welcome addition for future accessibility. **Points to Consider** * **Location Focus:** This hotel is perfect for those prioritizing the Forest Park itself. However, if your itinerary includes evening performances like ”Fox Fairy” or the other shows in Wulingyuan, you may find a more central town location more convenient. * **Environment:** We were never bothered by insects, but guests should be aware that this is a mountain location; the presence of local bugs around the exterior is natural and should be expected. * **Accessibility:** We had no mobility issues, but currently, access to the main wing requires stairs (until the elevator installation is complete). **Final Thoughts** For travelers who value a quiet, informed stay and wish to avoid the typical bottlenecks of the park’s more popular gates, this boutique hotel is an excellent choice. Having the time to engage with local suggestions and move at our own pace made our China trip feel truly personal.

The hotel fully lived up to our expectations! The view from the room was absolutely breathtaking. The smart room controls were very convenient and easy to use. The hotel grounds are lovely, with scenic walking paths and swings that create a very relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was not extremely varied, but everything was delicious — be sure to try the shaomai! In the evenings, you can order local Chinese dishes prepared by the chef. The food is excellent, although many dishes are designed for sharing and the portions are quite large. There are also snacks available at the reception desk. The weather in the park can change quickly, but the hotel sells both raincoats and shoe covers for rainy days (surprisingly useful!). The hotel also provides a shuttle to the park entrance, which is only a short distance away. I would also like to give special thanks to the hotel staff for the airport transfers and for their invaluable assistance throughout our stay. They helped us plan our sightseeing itinerary, purchase tickets, and were incredibly responsive to any questions we had — whether about the room or even our travel plans during the day. Their support made our trip much easier and more enjoyable. Thank you so much ❤️ When planning the trip, I recommend allowing at least two full days for the park itself, plus another one or two days for Tianmen Mountain and the Glass Bridge. Keep in mind that these attractions are about an hour’s drive from the main park and the hotel. I would also highly recommend visiting the 72 Wonder Tower in Zhangjiajie City in the evening. The atmosphere there is incredible, with live performances, actors in costume, and beautiful light installations that make the whole place feel magical.

Our Zhangjiajie trip was actually a last-minute change — we only decided to reroute here three days before arriving, during the second half of our journey. And honestly, choosing this guesthouse turned out to be the best decision I made. Right after booking, I reached out to the owner about the itinerary, routes, tickets — basically everything — and she saved us from so many potential headaches. When we got there, she sat down with us and went through the routes in detail, even pointing out some lesser-known spots that were totally worth it. That really helped us slow down and properly soak in this stunning natural wonder of a city. The location itself is super convenient — just a few minutes' walk from the east gate of the scenic area. There's parking out front, and the surrounding area is packed with shops, restaurants, and mini-marts, so you never have to go far for anything. The room? Clean, comfortable, and quiet — great for a solid night's sleep. Loved the smart home setup and the heated towel rack was a nice touch. There's also a few washing machines and dryers available, which was a lifesaver. They even put extra drinking water at the staircase for you to grab each morning before heading out, and you can borrow trekking poles and umbrellas too. But what really stood out was the owner and her brother — warm, thoughtful, and clearly running this place with a lot of heart. Thanks to them, we genuinely enjoyed our time in Zhangjiajie. I'll definitely be recommending this place to friends and family, and if we ever come back with family members, this will be our first choice. We spent just one night at Foggy Valley, but that was enough time to fall in love with this place! The room was very spacious, and the view from the window was simply magnificent. You can tell that the owners and staff paid great attention to quality — everything is made for comfortable sleep and a proper rest. The atmosphere in the room invites you to relax and take your time. I would especially like to mention the staff. The team is simply superb! All the employees speak excellent English and are ready to offer any support, handling any questions with a smile and genuine care. A special thank you goes to the girl who organized an unforgettable walk for us and hosted a tea ceremony. It was incredibly warm and heartfelt — it's moments like these that make a holiday truly special! Another huge plus is that you can order massage services to your room. After a long flight, it was exactly what we needed — our bodies were so grateful! The breakfast is excellent and is served in a very picturesque spot, which charges you with energy for the whole day. The hotel also has a restaurant with a very large and varied menu — we had dinner there, and the food was top-notch, everything was delicious. The hotel grounds are a work of art in themselves. It's especially beautiful in the evening when the lights come on. You can feel the tremendous attention to detail that adds even more charm and beauty to this place. Even in just one night, Foggy Valley gave us so many impressions. We will definitely come back again to enjoy this place for longer! View is as good as the photos. You get exactly what you see. However, I found the location of the hotel to be extremely inconvenient and would urge fellow travelers to avoid this hotel unless you are fully aware of this risk. First, the hotel is located in a very isolated location on a hill with steep curved turns making it very difficult for drivers. My DiDi drivers have all expressed their concern over the safety of the hill everytime I’ve had a ride home. Additionally, there are almost no food options and no convenience stores nearby. ******* will not be able to save you either. As the hotel is also located above rice paddies, the damp surroundings attract a lot of bugs including mosquitoes, beetles, and flies. Be wary of this, and bring a skin vape! The room itself is an oasis in the midst of it all though!

A very unique and memorable stay in Zhangjiajie! We stayed 2 nights in the Morning Glow King Suite Bedroom. The highlight of this homestay is its cave concept. The reception area is huge, impressive, and beautifully designed, creating a real wow factor upon arrival. The property also features a cave restaurant where breakfast is served, and dinner can be arranged with advance booking. There is also a cosy cave lounge for guests to relax. Our room was large, comfortable, and very clean. The facilities were well maintained and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Location is excellent. The homestay is hidden behind the famous theatre performance venue but only a short walk to the main street, making it convenient while remaining quiet. Highly recommended for travellers looking for a unique accommodation experience in Zhangjiajie. The cave setting alone makes it worth staying here.

I really appreciated my stay at the Barringo Inn. The service was excellent, and the entire hotel was spotlessly clean. A special shout-out to the guy at the reception—he was incredibly nice and went out of his way to be helpful throughout my visit. What really stood out to me was how reliable the hotel is. Before I even arrived in China, I ordered some parcels from Taobao and had them shipped to the hotel. They arrived early, and the receptionist kindly kept them for me for four full days until I checked in. That level of trust and care is truly unique and not something you experience everywhere. The location is another huge plus. The hotel is very close to many of Zhangjiajie's famous attractions, and practically everything you need is right nearby—supermarkets, restaurants, barbers, coffee shops, and traditional Chinese eateries are all within easy reach. If you're craving something different, you can even walk a little bit and find western options like pizza. It's incredibly convenient for any type of traveler. Overall, a fantastic experience—I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting! Next time I come back to Zhangjiajie, I will definitely book this hotel again without hesitation.

The accommodation is exceptionally clean and tidy, with complete facilities, and it's very close to the East Gate of Wulingyuan. The hostel owner is incredibly warm, friendly, and especially considerate. Despite the very hot weather, the owner always prepared chilled bottled water for us, which we deeply appreciated. Furthermore, we purchased tickets for various Zhangjiajie scenic spots (Tianmen Mountain, Grand Canyon, National Forest Park, Furong Ancient Town) through the hostel owner, and the prices were even cheaper than buying online. The owner also enthusiastically helped us with various aspects of our Zhangjiajie trip, making what could have been a complicated journey much easier. I highly recommend this hostel! If you're coming to Zhangjiajie, I truly suggest staying here!

Joyce was a wonderful host. She and her husband run this villa about 5minutes car ride to the East Gate of ZJJ park. The location is perfect to see the town of Wulingyuan, the park and multiple other places nearby. Joyce's knowledge of the surrounding area is excellent and she helped organise an itinerary and got the tickets organised at cost. We were very grateful to avoid endless queues with timing suggestions too. The pleasant surprise for this villa is the excellent private chef on site. We sent a wechat message of the menu items we wanted and he would cook it on the spot. His steak is excellent, but he also does very good chicken soup, Peking duck, hamburgers and club sandwiches. The breakfast menu is western or chinese and is very good. Joyce's husband has good taste in the renovation of the villa. The room had good quality bath towels, comfortable beds, and an excellent rain shower. Overall we enjoyed staying this villa and would definitely return.
