GGuest UserReview of Onna Resort, Okinawa
About me:
I’m a frequent flyer to Japan and a long-time fan of staying at villas and resorts across the country. I enjoy discovering different accommodations across Japan. This time, I chose Onna Resort for a relaxing group trip.
⸻
👍 What I liked:
• Spacious resort– Very roomy and comfortable, easily fits 7–8 people. Perfect for families or groups of friends.
• Clean and well-maintained – The entire resort was spotless and felt well cared for.
• View exactly as shown in photos – Stunning ocean view that matches the listing. Great for enjoying sunrise and sunset.
• Beach nearby – A beach is within walking distance. While it may not be the best in Okinawa, it’s still nice for a stroll or quick swim.
• Washer and dryer setup – Includes both a washer-dryer combo and a separate dryer, which is especially handy for drying towels and clothes after swimming.
• Well-equipped kitchen – Good selection of cookware and appliances for preparing meals.
• Private and quiet surroundings – Peaceful setting with no disturbance from other guests.

👎 What could be improved:
• Inconsistent check-in information – The email offered early check-in, and a staff member via video call said I could check in at 2pm. But when I arrived, another staff said it was 3pm. This communication gap should be addressed.
• Missing basic items – No cups or glasses were provided, obviously an oversight by the cleaning staff.
• Limited towel supply – Towels are provided strictly based on headcount. Given the proximity to the beach, it would be more convenient to offer a few extra towels without needing to ask.
• Limited Coffee Supply - The resort provides coffee bags based on headcount as well, which was insufficient for guests who consume two or three cups daily. A more generous and considerate coffee supply would enhance the experience.
• Insufficient tableware – Only two large plates were provided. It would be more practical to include additional small dishes, rice bowls, and condiment plates (e.g. for soy sauce or wasabi), especially for guests who plan to cook.
• Lack of basic cooking ingredients – It would be helpful if staple items like cooking oil, salt, and pepper were provided to make meal preparation more convenient.
• No power outlets near beds – Most sockets were located low on the wall and away from sleeping areas, making it inconvenient to charge phones or devices overnight.
• Weak Wi-Fi signal in places – Internet connection was spotty in some areas of the villa, although it offers several wifi spots within the resort, but still weak
GGuest UserThe inn I was planning to stay at suddenly closed and I searched in a hurry and suppressed it, but it was very beautiful and had amenities, so it was good. Unfortunately, there was no towel hanger in the toilet, so I was in trouble after washing my hands, but I survived by putting a towel on the toilet paper folder and using it jointly (laughs).
The bonfire was more fun and beautiful than expected, and it was November, so it was really good that there were few insects and it was not hot.
I couldn't confirm the explanation email firmly and I confirmed the phone several times, but it was very helpful to follow the email immediately after the oral explanation.
Thank you!
GGuest UserThis is the best hotel I've stayed in since I last visited Okinawa. During my trip, I stayed at 3 hotels and this hotel is my most favorite one.
The host was very friendly and I had access to the rooftop through my room. The hotel also has laundry facilities and high-speed internet. The room was spacious and the hotel was very quiet and peaceful.
VvjtThis homestay offers decent amenities. The rooms are quite tight with limited space to move around, but the common areas are spacious (so we placed all our luggages in the living room). The living room is a good size, and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. There’s also a washer available. The location is a bit secluded, but manageable if you have a car. Conveniently, there’s a parking lot right outside the house.
GGuest UserThis is a very good house. All the facilities are quite new. Except for the location being unclearly marked, I searched for an hour and still couldn’t find it. I happened to meet the local postman and I didn’t know... After searching for a while, I finally found it at the original location. The hill next door is not a location on the G map at all.
GGuest User”Good location and friendly staff, but the rooms are starting to show their age. The bed was comfortable, but the noise from the street was quite noticeable. Good for a short stay, but not for a quiet getaway. The breakfast buffet was a highlight.”
GGuest UserI thought it would be nice if there were amenities such as body towels.
The children were delighted to see the hammocks, attic rooms, and places where you can play in the river. I felt that it was very good that the bicycle was left. However, it seemed that the 1 blur − ki of the two units was broken. Please check for safety.
I was very satisfied with the time I had and left the inn. Thank you very much!
