Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. ZenFrieda is a quiet sanctuary surrounded by woods, rolling hills and meadow. As you make your way along the wildflower-lined drive and cross the little bridge and creek, the property opens itself to you. Here you will find nooks to read in and pockets to nap in. You will hear nature- and very little else. There are outdoor activities and indoor spaces that kids will love. The sauna and outdoor bathtub complete the Zen you will find here.A long private driveway that passes over Otter Creek opens up to reveal the property tucked against the trees. Zen Frieda is the barn shaped guest house 30 ft from the main home. The main home is periodically occupied by the welcoming owner and family. In the future it will be available to other guests as well. On the first floor you will find the fully equipped kitchen, full bathroom, and living room with Smart TV and local channels. Upstairs holds the one bedroom with comfortable queen bed. In the open upstairs living space there is a queen sized pull out sofa that serves as the 2nd bed. Padding and sheets are available for use in closet. The small low ceiling loft with ladder access is for owner use only. A small balcony with sliding patio doors offers a lovely view of the outdoor surroundings and an upper back deck has a small sitting area with a more wooded view.It is heated with infloor heat with adjustable thermostat and cooled with an upstairs AC unit and multiple ceiling fans.The guest house and the decks and patio are your own private space at all times. The electric sauna with Huum heater, outdoor shower, tub and outdoor sitting space with raised firepit located on the deck behind the main house are open for you to enjoy for yourself. The maximum temp in the sauna is 190F. All kitchen cooking items are provided along with paper towels, dish towels, soap, coffee, filters, tea, oil, some spices, foil, etc.Full bathroom with towels and soaps provided.All linens, blankets and pillows are provided.You will have access to the full guest house, the decks and patios surrounding it along with the sauna and bathtub located behind the main house and outdoor swinging bed. You are welcome to explore and utilize the large yard. Plenty of room for boats or other trailers.If someone is staying at the main house the sauna area, swing bed and yard would be a shared space.ZenFrieda is located in a quiet rural setting though not too far from town. The beautiful wooded hills in the area make for an enjoyable drive just getting there. Within 10-20 miles are the towns of Wheeler, Colfax, Boyceville, Ridgeland and Menomonie. Eau Claire is 45 miles away. The closest interstate access is in Menomonie 20 miles away. The Twin Cities are about a 1.5 hour drive. Depending in your carrier, cell service may be limited but Wi-Fi is available. Plan to not rely on signal to locate the property. The Otter Creek Wildlife Area borders the property on 3 sides and is open to the public for exploring in whatever way you would like. The Red Cedar and Hay Rivers are within 5 miles for a local float or paddle down a quiet waterway.Lakes Tainter and Menomin are within 10-20 miles and are popular for fishing, boating, or pontooning.Hoffman Hills State Recreation area, 20 miles south, offers enjoyable trails for hiking, snowshoeing or skiing.The Red Cedar State Trail starting in Menomonie can be utlilized for biking, walking, skiing or snowshoeing.Snowmobile and ATV trails are within a few miles. The property is a great location to stay for visiting friends and family in the area, working away from home, or taking a quiet vacation.I am always available by phone or email. Many DIY projects from Stefani are featured in this Nordic-inspired home. Check out her channel and be inspired by her hundreds of DIY projects. Unwind with the entire family in our stunning newer built River House, perfectly situated overlooking the channel of Lake Tainter in Colfax, Wisconsin. This spacious property comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests with its 4 bedrooms, 5 beds, and 3.5 baths. The main floor features an open-concept design with a cozy fireplace, a recreational room, and a covered patio. Large windows throughout the house provide great views of the surrounding wildlife and the river. Kayaks are complimentary for guest use and shared with our other property. We just ask that they’re returned after use so everyone can enjoy them.For larger groups, you can also reserve our charming small cabin for an additional fee. It sleeps 4 guests with a queen bed and a full-size bed. While the cabin doesn’t have plumbing, it does offer electricity and is within walking distance of the River House. We are located about 10 miles off interstate I-94. Little over an hour away from St. Paul/Minneapolis (MSP Airport, Mall of America). Wood bury ,MN (Wood bury outlet malls) 45 mins away. Eau Claire, and Chippewa Falls are also about 45 minutes away. 15 minutes from down town Menomonie. Cottage Winery, Lucette Brewery , Golf courses, Red cedar Speedway, WoodWind Park, Hoffman Hills State Recreation, Valley Pasture Pumpkin Patch, Govin Farm and more family entertainment less than 15 mins away from this amazing property!!! There are nearby restaurants that are accessible by water or land. Jake's Supper Club, Pioneer Grill & Saloon and Elk Point Resort are easy access by boat or vehicle. Jake's has three decks and a fabulous Tiki bar over looking the lake with live bands every weekend in the summer months. Pioneer Bar & Grill is walking distance from Jake's Supper Club, in a country setting with great entertainment!
