Scott and I live in the main part of the house. Rental space is a private wing of the house. 224 Birch Point Rd adjoins a heavily wooded area at the top of a ravine that leads to Cushman Cove, part of the Back River. There are 1 1/4 acres with no neighbors on either side and the wooded ravine to the rear. The suite w/private entrance is a 1st floor wing of the house. The room has been upgraded for a comfy stay. You'll fade into sleep easily on the king-size bed and pillows. 100% spring/summer cotton bed linen. Linen Duvet cover and comforter(fall/winter). Extra blankets can be found in the wardrobe.The cherry wardrobe is equipped with drawers and shelving and there's a hang bar on the side of the wardrobe fit with wood hangers. Organic cotton and/or linen bed linens, beautiful wide- plank flooring, an intimate dining area by the window, microwave, refrigerator with freezer along with dishes, bowls, glasses, flatware and utensils. There is an electric water kettle for pour over coffee and tea (#2 filters provided). We will provide a complimentary starter tray of coffee, creamer (real half and half in individual sized bottles!), an assortment of black and herbal teas, water, protein bars and snacks, paper towels, toilet paper, and 100% cotton bath towels, including 2 beach towels. There are books available during your stay, a sitting area, games (Backgammon, cards, Bananagram), cleaning products, organic Alba Shampoo and Conditioner, Body wash and hairdryer. There is also a SONY smart TV, so while Netflix is provided, you may need to bring along your ID and password for any premium streaming platforms you subscribe to. There's a window A/C for hot & humid nights . We are located within easy access to Camden and Damariscotta. Birchfield Farm is a 70 acre farm, set back from the road on a long gravel driveway. Children are especially welcome. This rental has 2 bedrooms , 2 full baths, and a living room area. The entire unit is rented whether one bedroom is used or two. You will have a refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker. There is no kitchen with the rental rooms. The rental has a private porch facing the garden, away from the barn, and a deck. It consists of a living room with cable TV and internet. There are two bathrooms, all completely remodeled. This old house does not have an upstairs bathroom, and the previous owners put two bathrooms in the front room years ago. Double beds in each bedroom because a queen did not fit up the stairwell. We have a small dog, a Lhasa Apso, our timid farm dog. Our farm has horses, sheep, chickens and minilop rabbits and a mini jersey steer. We raise our sheep for fleece and lambs. We have one horse, and 6 Finn sheep, rabbits and hens. There are large fields and walking paths. The farm has 4 barns, and a garden. There are also many hiking and biking trails in the area. Please be aware that the house sits on top of hill requiring climbing a long staircase (see picture) and it is not handicap accessible.
