The room was small but clean. The landlady even arranged a bigger room for us. It's conveniently located, very close to the subway downstairs, and there are minibuses available. Shopping is easy nearby, and there are many food options. It was great value for money, especially during the National Day holiday.

This the worst stay of my life. Paying $37 for a shared dormitory was a complete waste of money—the level of filth was beyond imagination. The entire property is a health hazard. The toilets didn't even close properly, and the walls were covered in stains and dirt. I was placed with a homeless man and he was so dangerous that he was smaking his phone and behaving erratically, the room smelled horrific, and the conditions felt completely unsafe. Fearing for my safety, I immediately left the hostel. When I messaged the clerk asking for a new room or a refund, she simply left me on read and ignored me entirely. This place is a massive scam that directly threatens your well-being. Please be safe guys.

Seriously, folks, this is not okay. Pros: Clean floors, nice room environment, private bathroom. Cons: 1. They completely ignore guest age and quality; 20-year-olds and 70-year-olds are housed in the same room. 2. When I tried to check out, they gave me a hard time, and the platform had to intervene to resolve it. 3. The security system is a joke; all sorts of people are coming and going. They don't even properly check guest IDs. If you know the code, you can get in, and the code can even be guessed. Summary: Brothers, stay away.

I recommend this hotel only if you book a private room, but I would not recommend staying in the shared hostel rooms. To be fair, this does not mean there are no good aspects. The owner/front desk lady is one of the nicest people I’ve met. She was always respectful, responsive, and very accommodating. Despite a misunderstanding, she made sure I was taken care of and able to rest comfortably. She replies quickly to messages and keeps guests updated, which I really appreciated. During my stay, I moved rooms twice and stayed in three different rooms overall. Most of the occupants seemed to be Chinese guests. I originally booked a shared room for girls, which had four beds. Unfortunately, the room was very small and did not have air conditioning—only a wall-mounted electric fan. When I arrived, the room was messy and unclean, and it looked like all the beds were already occupied. I asked the owner where I should stay, and she kindly explained that the room had not yet been cleaned and that she would take care of it immediately. I understood and decided to go out first and come back later. However, when I returned in the evening, the room was still not cleaned, and there were already four people staying inside. Since the front desk operates only from 10 AM to 7 PM, no one was there at that time. I felt disappointed and called her. She responded quickly and explained that there had been a miscommunication with the booking, then arranged to transfer me to another room. The second room was much better. It was larger—possibly meant for groups—but I had it to myself. The bed and bathroom were also cleaner. That night, I decided to upgrade to a private room because I no longer felt comfortable sharing after my first experience. I paid an additional 150 HKD and transferred the next day. The final room was intended for two people, but again, I had it to myself. It was cleaner and much more comfortable, especially the bathroom. Overall, the service from the owner is excellent, but the shared room experience needs significant improvement. If you value cleanliness, comfort, and peace of mind, I strongly suggest booking a private room instead.

Bad sheets were torn…. Though clean. Only good point is its location…They arrange in other hostel in same building… don’t have charging points on upper bad…. Except this no problem

Great location and self check in so you can go whenever you want and they let me leave the bag there in the morning when it was still too early to check in. Bed was comfortable but if you keep the top bunk you’ll have the ac in your face which might not be great. It was clean enough and shower was hot. The biggest issue and why I wouldn’t stay again was the smell of tobacco that was in the room from all the years of smoke inside. I would wake up in the middle of the night because of it. Couldn’t wait to get out.

For a place as expensive as Hong Kong, I think both the price and cleanliness were excellent. The only minor drawback is that it's a bit small, but that's to be expected.

Another great experience! The hotel is conveniently located and easy to find, close to Mong Kok MTR station. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, making late-night snacks super convenient. The hotel facilities are good, with air conditioning and ample hot water in the bathroom. Shower gel and shampoo are provided, and everything is clean and hygienic. The reception service was excellent. Highly recommended!

Had a pretty smooth experience with Free Walker Guesthouse! Called them in the morning and they were cool allowing me storing my luggage at reception till I checked in late evening, even sent me the room key code. Big thumbs up for that! Room was a bit dirty, but sheets were fine. One bummer: had a roommate who smoked inside, super annoying. Hope they post a no-smoking sign in the rooms.

You get what you paid for. For that price. It's considered ok for that location with that kind of arrangement. HK is known for space scarcity and high price. Many shops nearby. Phone shop at ground floor selling various second hand phones with reasonable price. Many food shops available. Opposite got ladies market. Pity The receptionist. The working environment and the amount of pressure for a period of long time had turned her into emotionally and mentally unstable person with frequent up & down for no reason. You give phone or passport, she kind of throw back to you. You speak English, she speak mandarin, you speak mandarin, she speak English. Pity her, nobody to help her. Maybe she even not getting her pay properly. Who knows. So don't focus on her, focus on your purpose, that's a bed for you. She is IT expert will WhatsApp to you all the passwords and bed details. Make your life pretty easy.

The lady at the front desk was incredibly kind and genuinely helpful. When I needed shampoo, she gave me a very generous amount! She even patiently showed me how to use the water heater. A huge thanks to her, and I wish her all the best in her work and everything she does! The room was very tidy, and the bedding was clean and comfortable. I'm really satisfied, five-star rating all around!
