China Rich Oriental Hotel Reviews

I booked a double room for around 500 on a weekend in August. **Environment:** Both the interior and exterior of the hotel are quite good. The soundproofing from the outside is excellent; even facing the street, it's not noisy. It's located between Shau Kei Wan and Sai Wan Ho MTR stations, making it very convenient to get to South Bay Beach by public transport. **Cleanliness:** It was decent. There was a faint oil stain on the duvet, but no odd smell. The bathroom cleanliness was also acceptable. **Facilities:** I chose a double room, but it was made up of two single beds pushed together. The hard edge in the middle wasn't very comfortable. There was only one single duvet, but the front desk attendant quickly brought another one when I asked, which was great. The TV had Netflix and YouTube, which was a nice touch. They provided an adapter, but it was already plugged into the fridge.

The room felt like it had no ventilation system at all; the floor was covered in water, and even with the AC on, it seemed to get worse. I reported it to the hotel, but no one bothered to help. I had booked for two nights but could only stay for one, eventually having to pay for another hotel. Sleeping with the AC on felt completely damp and cold. This was truly the worst hotel experience I've ever had.

Overall, I had a good experience staying in the apartment. It was spacious and well lit, and the environment was quiet. The shower and bathroom were also good, and I appreciated the shampoo and body wash provided. One small issue was that the air conditioner could be a bit noisy when the temperature was set a bit low. It would also be even better to have an extra rubbish bin with a lid near the bed.

The air conditioning unit was leaking, the shower drain was completely clogged, there was a strange smell in the room, and the TV wasn't even connected – it was just there for show. Truly terrible.

Getting to Shek O Beach from here is quite convenient by public transport. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Incredible hotel. The location and view are awesome, we had view on the street with these classic trams and buses. There is no much space in the room, but it is enough for 2 people, toilet is also a bit small. But for that price in Hong Kong it is the best hotel ever. We will definitely come back there. Despite the fact that staff doensn't speak English or Chinese, they are really friendly, somehow we understood each other.

Room is not as pictured. Beware - the hotel is dirty. Our room had water coming down from the walls and the floor. No bath mats are provided. Wear and tear from humidity was expected, however, this was just unacceptable. A smaller than average adult could not close the washroom door without straddling the toilet. If someone is smoking outside, you can smell through the window (3rd floor).

The front desk lady arranged a satisfactory room for me, and the environment was nice. Everything was quite clean, and the staff were friendly.

Found sthg unusual sticking to the shower head. Some leftover package of shampoo & a piece of soap next to TV set. Toilet seat has yellow stains. Clearly housekeeping is not a priority for them. And will not have breakfast bc FEHD has yet to approve their licence.

For Hong Kong Island, the room size is absolutely worth the price; it doesn't feel cramped at all and is perfectly adequate. The location is excellent, especially for taking the tram. It's just a two to three-minute walk from the hotel to the tram stop, which is much more convenient than taking the MTR.

The service was alright, nothing I was particularly unhappy about. The room was small, as expected, and the location was a bit out of the way, but it was accessible by subway, which was fine. The main issue was that the air conditioning only had a cooling function! It was only a few degrees when I stayed, so it was really, really, really cold! They also didn't clean the room during my three-day stay.

Overall, it's pretty good. The location is very close to a bus stop, and the Island Line MTR station is about a 10-minute walk away, which is quite convenient. Outside, you get typical Hong Kong Island city views. My room was right next to the road, but there weren't many cars at night, so it wasn't too noisy. For Hong Kong, the value for money is relatively high, and the room size isn't particularly small. It's well-equipped and clean too.

Just a small room, but the location is pretty good. The cleanliness was just okay; there was still hair in the shower.

I was very pleasantly surprised to find that they provided towels, toothbrushes, slippers, and even drinking water. Plus, there was a complimentary breakfast!
