Hong Kong New York Guest House (TST Metro H Exit)

The hotel is located within Hong Kong's Chungking Mansions, but it's quite hard to find the exact spot. As soon as you enter Chungking Mansions, you'll find many non-Chinese people touting for hotel guests (there are many hotels inside), which can feel a bit intimidating. The check-in staff were also foreign. Communication wasn't super easy, but I managed to check in without any major issues. Later, they sent all the post-check-in information in Chinese via WeChat.

Though small, this place has everything a big hotel offers. Victoria Harbour is just a 5-minute walk away. At 400 yuan for two nights, it's great value for money. There's also an underground mall next to the building, which is very convenient for meals. For a short visit, especially if you're getting an Octopus card, I'd recommend staying here. You get what you pay for, so don't expect too much for such a low price.

The room size is understandable, and it's well-equipped. The only difference is the duvet cover, which is unlike those in mainland chain hotels. The transportation is excellent and it's easy to find. They also offer free luggage storage after check-out. We had two triple rooms.

However, this place provided basic supplies, and there was also a water dispenser, hairdryer, nail clippers, etc., available outside. Be aware that the hot water runs out quickly, so showers need to be kept under five minutes. **Service:** The online customer service was excellent. They provided very detailed information on check-in and check-out procedures, basic facilities, nearby attractions, and even where to exchange cash and SIM cards. The room was managed by an Indian gentleman who spoke English; he was very efficient and quite serious. You can also store your luggage until 11 PM on the day you check out. **Location:** From the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station's mall exit, you can directly see Chungking Mansions, which is right across the street, super close, less than 100 meters away. It's very near Victoria Harbour, the Avenue of Stars, and K11. There are also many great restaurants nearby, and the area is very lively. **Hygiene:** Basic hygiene was good; there were no strange smells in the room. There were a few white stains on the bedsheets, which looked a bit like paint, possibly disinfectant powder or something similar? If this bothers you, I'd suggest bringing a disposable bedsheet or pillowcase. **Summary:** I'd definitely come again. For Hong Kong, the location and environment offer excellent value for money. I'm giving it five stars. It's perfect for solo travelers.
