Hotel: Motto by Hilton Hong Kong Soho 📍Location: Sai Street, Sheung Wan 💰Price: 2000+ RMB / night Even though I'm a Hilton Diamond member and this is a brand new hotel that just opened in 2025, it's still the most 'mini' Hilton I've ever stayed in. If I had to categorize it, it's basically the Hilton version of a 'hostel' 🥲 ✔️The only pro: The location is absolutely fantastic. It's in the heart of Sheung Wan, right downstairs from popular eateries and Lan Kwai Fong. Central Ferry Pier is just a few minutes' walk away, giving you that full Hong Kong vibe. If you're only in Hong Kong for non-stop exploring and nightlife, this is indeed a convenient 'base camp.' ❌Everything else is a con: 1️⃣ Room size: Suffocatingly small. They say it's 20 square meters, but it feels even more cramped in reality. You can only open your luggage in the hallway, and then you have to hop around on one foot – a perfect illustration of 'every inch of land is precious.' 2️⃣ Toilet: Is it for Hobbits? I really need to talk about this bathroom! The toilet height is probably only for children, my knees almost reach my chest. For someone 185cm+, using the toilet is like doing squats 🧎♂️. This design is truly outrageous. 3️⃣ Breakfast: Extremely perfunctory. No buffet, just set menus, and the taste is very ordinary 🥗. 4️⃣ Member benefits: Non-existent. Diamond status is useless here. Room upgrade? Doesn't exist, the front desk just tells you it's full (if you know, you know). Welcome amenities are also practically nothing.

Seriously, just look at the hygiene! On the first night of our stay, I wanted to drink some water from a cup, and after taking a sip, I found a lot of unknown stains inside. Is this really Hilton's hygiene standard? Is this how hotels in Hong Kong are? I called the duty manager to come and see, and all he did was apologize, which did nothing to soothe our anger. I immediately contacted Ctrip's hotel concierge for assistance. I must say, Ctrip's concierge really went above and beyond to fight for my rights. My request was a free stay, but the hotel offered me a dining discount instead. With such disgusting hygiene, do you really think I'd trust your food? From the moment this incident happened until checkout, not a single hotel staff member came to talk to me about it. After checking out, the Ctrip concierge even told me that the hotel manager had already communicated with me and resolved the issue??? Ha, Hilton Group is really something, trying to play games with me. I've kept all the evidence and will be filing complaints with the Hong Kong Hotels Association and the Department of Health, as well as sending an email to the Hilton Group. I will never stay here again in my life.

The hotel's location is great, making it easy to get around. It's newly renovated, simple, and chic. However, the breakfast wasn't the buffet I expected; it was more like a simple meal that was hard to swallow. I tried the Chinese breakfast once and the Western breakfast a second time, and honestly, both were a letdown! I was also really surprised by the comfort of the bed. I've stayed in countless hotels in Hong Kong, and they usually have soft, plush beds, so this was quite disappointing. And I don't understand why the toilet is installed so low. On the bright side, the shower pressure was strong, and the quality was good. The cleaning lady was also very friendly and proactive, greeting me cheerfully in the mornings!

New hotels are just the best! The design is great. Facilities: Convenient. Hygiene: Clean. Environment: I love it. The surroundings have a very old Hong Kong city vibe, full of Hong Kong style. The hotel is new, and the design is really good. I'd be happy to stay again. Service: Attentive and enthusiastic.

The hotel is quite new, and the environment and cleanliness are excellent. The room size is pretty standard for Hong Kong. It was my first time in Sheung Wan, and I wasn't familiar with the area. My phone's GPS wasn't accurate, so it took me a while to find the hotel after exiting the MTR station. It's about a 10-minute walk from Exit A2, so not super close. However, there are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants nearby, which is very convenient for exploring. I'd definitely consider staying here again.

The biggest plus is that it's new – what more could you ask for from a new hotel? The room size is decent for Hong Kong, especially for Sheung Wan, where space is at a premium. The hygiene inside the room was up to par, and amenities were complete. There are USB and Type-C charging ports, and the decor is modern with a bit of a trendy design. It's only a three or four-minute walk to Sheung Wan MTR station. There are plenty of food and drink options nearby, with a 7-Eleven right downstairs. Breakfast is served in the top-floor restaurant; while it wasn't particularly tasty (a choice of five set meals), the view of Victoria Harbour from the window was a definite highlight. Overall, it was good, and I'd stay again if the price is right. If it's too overpriced, it's not worth it.
