Panda Hotel

This was my second visit to Hong Kong. On my second day, I stayed here to visit Hong Kong Disneyland. The environment was lovely. You absolutely must try the downstairs 'cha chaan teng' (ice room) – it's incredibly close and delicious. In the evening, I also went to Victoria Peak. Getting to Disneyland from here by MTR was super convenient, taking only 20-30 minutes. The bed was quite large, easily accommodating an adult and a child. Highly recommended.

I stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights because I heard it had good access to Hong Kong Disneyland. There wasn't much difference in price between a taxi and the train from the airport to the hotel, so I took a taxi. The room was simple, and the amenities were truly minimal (just a toothbrush and slippers), but since I only needed a place to sleep, I was satisfied. The slippers were quite thin and flimsy, so I recommend bringing your own if that bothers you. I also stayed at the end of August, but the room was quite cold; it was chilly even with the air conditioning off, so I suggest bringing a jacket or cardigan. There were two rolls of toilet paper, but once one ran out, it wasn't replaced. Hand towels and bath towels were replenished daily. I could hear some noise from the adjacent room, but there are a lot of international guests, so I guess that's to be expected given the clientele. The building where the hotel is located has a supermarket and many Japanese restaurants, so you won't have trouble finding food. I only noticed it later, so I couldn't use it, but there was information in the room drawer about discounts available at Aeon (apparently, you just need to show your room key). The access to Disneyland was good, and for about 10,000 yen per day for two people, I was satisfied with the price as well.

The room is located above a shopping mall, making it very easy to find. There are many great restaurants upstairs. The soundproofing of the hotel is average, but the environment is decent.

The bathroom cleaning was terrible. There were so many hairs left behind. First, I found some hair on the toilet lid, which I thought was a one-off. But then I found more hair in the bathtub, two hairs on the neatly folded bath towel, and even more unbelievably, a lot of hair hanging on the unused showerhead. What kind of cleaning method spreads hair everywhere like that? It was disgusting to think about. I had to scrub it clean myself before I could even bring myself to use the shower.

The customer service staff were very polite, and the room was very clean. The environment was very comfortable.

I've stayed here many times, but this visit was particularly unpleasant. Seeing a crowd, I opted for self-check-in. However, after completing the process, it stated my room wasn't ready (despite arriving on time), so I still had to queue up. Then, a male staff member assisted with check-in. I had booked an Executive Suite, and everything seemed ready. But suddenly, a female staff member next to him asked who had chosen the room she wanted. The male staff member said it was him and then gave her the room. What kind of operation is this? It's bad enough they gave it away, but then I had to wait almost ten minutes for them to find another room. Once I got to the room, it was indeed an Executive Suite, but it was significantly worse than previous stays. There wasn't even a mini-fridge!?! Plus, the slippers in the room were dirty, the bedding had strange stains, and there were no towels provided. When I tried to call, the room phone was broken, so I had to use the bathroom phone. All in all, a really bad experience.

The room size was decent, with a desk and a small sofa, and I could open my luggage. However, showering involved standing in the bathtub, and the drain was incredibly slow.

Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations! The location is indeed a bit out of the way, but I was prepared for that, and getting a taxi into the city was quite convenient. I especially want to commend the cleanliness; every detail was well-maintained, which made for a very comfortable stay. Downstairs, there's an AEON and a few restaurants, so dining and shopping were a one-stop solution, saving a lot of hassle. The front desk service was also good, and it offers great value for money.
